Agree. We rarwly play good one touch passing etc. I am not too worried about the pitch

We play very direct football especially since Burge has been booting it long instead of trying to build out from defense. I sometimes wonder whether our fans pay any attention.

I think you will find it is a combination. We do often kick it long from Burge, but he does also throw it out from the back and when we get it down we don't JUST play it long. We quite often try to work it from side to side and wing to wing on the floor.

Shipley, McNulty and Bayliss all like to play little flicks and one twos, especially Shipley, who is always giving the ball and then going for the immediate return.

It's a mixture. Not as much on the deck now as earlier in the season, where pretty much everything was thrown out by Burge, but we do also like the ball on the deck, especially Shipley, Bayliss, McNulty, DKE.

I think it might be the fans fault that the pitch is knackered-remember they ran on it it once or twice from the stands last season.

Been plenty of teams come here and just hit long balls and Wycombe especially, who just had that one sole tactic.

With teams that try to play through the middle I think it is going to get sticky and increasingly bobbly and cut up. Definitely going to be harder to play good football.

We have indeed though started to go a bit longer a bit more often of late.

Be interesting to see how games progress on this ever deteriorating pitch.

Yes agree Otis , you have to play to the conditions , I have not seen the pitch at Ryton recently but suspect it is 18 th green at glen eagles , it can effect so much but I always view it as both teams have to play it

Im not sure if it is the worst pitch in the football league, but it sure hell looks the worst pitch in all four divisions.

W***s clearly aren't putting into the pitch what they could/should. Considering it was hailed as the "pitch of all pitches" we haven't had a full season of green yet!
Although right now it's not a concern to me, we have a shit pitch in a league full of shit pitches! Much the same when we were in L1, if we get promotion. It will, however, become a concern IF we manage to get back into the Championship, IF at that point were still playing at the Ricoh. Our shit pitch isn't gaining any unwanted attention in L2 but would stick out like a sore thumb in the Championship!

Good for the run in to the season end, the pitch should be OK once good weather kicks in.

They were talking about how bad it was on BBC Radio 5 earlier aswell, they said there was 30 yards of pitch in the centre with no grass on it.

Looks like paradise compared to the pitch I had to play on yesterday.

Complete and utter mud bath, also waterlogged round the centre circle. You couldn't walk through it, let alone run!

I would have thought as long as it takes a stud and provides a firm footing for the backs the length of the grass would be fairly unimportant, obviously within reason. As for the forwards the muddier the better, but I've never played rugby so would probably have to ask someone who has.

50% of them are brain-dead and the other 60% of them can't hear you because of their cauliflower ears.

Oh and they can't add up either.
