On the walk back to my car yesterday discussed the game with a few of their fans (very friendly bunch I must add)

Even they commented how crap our keeper is. I just We know. We have known for 2/3 years now.

And one of the reasons the loser should have been booted out in the summer.

I've supported and backed him even though I thought RCC was the better of the two last season. Yesterday after his mistake he totally went to pieces and think that he was the main reason that we didn't win. The defence lost all confidence in him and looked jittery as a result and started to punt the ball out instead of passing to team mates. He was very, very weak mentally yesterday. It will be insteresting to see if Robins takes the gamble and supports him next week or takes him out of the team.

Sadly we have 2 below average keepers. If we replace Burge with LOB, we'll be moaning about LOB soon, saying bring Burge back....and so the cycle repeats itself, until we get a decent keeper
If we had a 1st choice keeper who broke an arm and a leg I would still be reluctant to call for Burge to come back in.

Forgot about that pass from JMD to put McNulty through.

Overall it was a pretty poor performance, still pains me to see the goal and wonder how somebody paid to play football couldn't just put their foot through it over the building site.

Very true.

To come out for that ball was one of the worst goalkeeping decisions I've ever seen in a professional game.

Seriously pub league stuff.
Baffling. The distance he had to come out, in the time he had to come to try and get to the ball out was ridiculous.

I have seen some bad keeping errors by City keepers in my time, but that HAS to be one of the worst ever.

I can only think he was being chased by a bee.

I am not defending Burge, but he had no need to come for it, Willis should have dealt with that ball and should have told Burge to stay where he was. Then, even after the ball landed at their player's feet, we were so slow to close him down, just a bit of pressure probably would have stopped the shot on target. Piss poor defending all round.

I'm gonna defend Willis here and suggests he was likely surprised to see Burge there, there fore minimal communication likely needed initially as Willis was goal side of the ball.

The moment Willis sees Burge looks to be claiming it Burge applies the brakes and so does Willis allowing the defender the time to win the ball.

Costly decision to come for a wonder

Yep. No Burge there and I think Willis gets that covered every time.

No Burge there and an easy header from Willis to Burge, if of course he has the confidence to give it to him
