I was at both. Think Phil Neals love child scored our consolation goal at their place. The 'return' fixture at HR was televised, I think? We absolutely battered them but couldn't add to the one goal and they equalised in injury time as I recall.
Yes we were great that day but couldn't put them away at the 3 sided HR.
Wegerle played brilliantly. He is never mentioned as a great player but he was super on his day.

Remind us again who the lovechild was?
Having problems remembering back then.

The biggest thing I know ever to happen to Swindon Town FC is when they had an airplane who played for them upfront in their one season in the Premiership.
They famously won the league cup in the late sixties beating Arsenal in the final and knocking us out on the way. They had a really good winger, Don Rogers, who starred in that team and who I think they named a stand after. Didn’t Ernie Hunt come from Swindon?
I thought we were hanging on in Saturday’s game after looking fairly comfortable at 2-0. I have seen us beat them now twice in one season after many occasions of being the better team but failing to beat them, particularly at the County Ground, so I don’t feel too bad if we had the luck with us this time.

I suffered both as well, we looked awful at there place and at HR it should have been 7-1, but it was 1-1.

Yep, it was Julian Darby who scored the consolation for us after Fjortofts hat-trick.

Killer was playing for Swindon at the time. I met him after that game in the players lounge after the match. Also met Phil Neal after the match as well. 'Did you enjoy today young man?'.

'Not really Phil, we just got dicked by Swindon....'.

I was at both too, remember coming out and they were signing "you've got the worse fans in the league", to which City fans sang back "You've got the worse ground in the league"

I hate the ground so agree with him on that, Saturdays venue is a similar issue. The fan base is a laugh, I think they missed our attendance at the JPT and the 10 years of shit we have put up with!

Had another look at the County ground highlights and in all honesty Fjortoft would have been booked for the dive for their second penalty if the game was played last week.
Did we not have a Mr Sandy Robertson in our squad that day?:emoji_spy:
