If you was MR and it's Monday morning (29th) you had one or two targets and contingency plans in place would you accept a fair bid off the back of Willis's solid performances to push the button on one or two strikers to hopefully see us over the line to bolster the attack.

You've still 3 days business to get a deal done so plenty of time as you've contingency plans in place for extra players and targets should we draw a top club in the cup for a pay day.

Or would you stick and do no more business and be happy with a solid defensive unit and hope your forwards carry on as they were say 2 games ago, with uncertainty still as to if Biamou would score 8 goals this season

Oh and you drew Wigan away in the fa cup later that day in a disappointing cup tie. So no bumper cash boost.

Ultimately I feel we're a hamstring or groin away from missing out on promotion so I'd take the cash, invest in the targets set out and attempt to secure promotion with it in our hands

Which is why I didn't mention Stokes in my list. If Haynes goes that pretty much rules Stokes out as an option for centre back. Leahy has gone and Camwell, well who knows, but he's not even in the picture at the moment.

Issue is he's only 18 tho with plenty to learn in his trade. Went on loan to Solihull and while he didn't play much in the month he was there I don't believe, tho he would of learned a lot from the experience.

That's what it's about to find a career with the talent he's been blessed with so far

Why is there this obsession about selling Willis for a striker? No one is even interested in him. Bradford were in the summer and weren’t willing to match our evaluation. Considering his performances in the best defence in the division, his value has gone up, not down.

Every transfer is the risk, so I think selling your best defender mid season for a striker - when we’ve got McNulty - is asking for trouble.

Last point, Craig Davies was probably the best option in this transfer window, and we had the resources to get him. He just didn’t want to come down to us.

While I agree with what you've said I think the policy of giving players longer contracts will ultimately prove beneficial even if in this instance it does appear to be a mistake. Difficult to get them all right.

It's all hypothetical... not real and currently no bids or concrete interest but as you say his value has gone up and is the one out of the whole squad to fetch a good sum or likely interest.

It's all if buts and maybes to see if anyone would cash in our riches to strengthen the rest of the squad with 3 days of the window to upgrade from shopping in exchange and mart to having a pick from the show room.

I think we are going to have to stick with what we have got. I wouldnt sell Willis either. He is now starting to turn consistently good performances in. It's true we have 4 very capable centre backs at the moment and that we can only play 2 but given that our game is based on not conceding, and nicking goals, I think we need the cover for when injuries and suspensions occur.

It's clear that SISU arent going to inject any cash to push us over the promotion line this January, so no wonder striker is going to turn up. The squad we have should be good enough to finish at least in the play off spots, and if we can stop losing to teams we shouldn't, then 2nd or 3rd spot cant be ruled out.
