He probably will when jch is up to speed. He didn't get much of a sniff today either.

We need to create more, we need to commit more forward especially when chasing games.

It's ok when we are winning to sit back with negative tactics but not like today.
When Doyle and Kelly fill the two middle of field slots we don't create enough. It's that simple.

We looked so much more potent the moment Bayliss came into the side and that's because he is more creative.

Been an interesting joust between Nick and Grendel, I think you’re both right. We don’t dominate possession and don’t create sufficient chances for our strikers. At the same time, although Biamou works hard, he isn’t particularly mobile, probably won’t score enough goals, and doesn’t really make things happen for himself, as McNulty does. I’m guessing the new guy will play an increasing role going forward.

We're consistently good at home, it's a shame we can't bring the same game away.
And for a side consistently in the top 6 it's ridiculous that we can't even pick up draws against some of the teams at the bottom.

We should be beating them of course, but if not, we surely should be able to pick up a point in these games. Even that would be considered 2 points dropped, but it's the difference between being in and out of the playoff places.

I fear it's going to cost us in May

Putting on my sensible hat, it takes time to build a winning team unless you happen to have lots of money but even that doesn't guarantee success, Robins has steadily built a decent squad, the defence last season was dreadful, this season its very good, so the old adage of building from the back is being undertaken, obviously our offensive is not so great.
All hopes have been raised this season to get out of this league and apart from goals we have looked one of the better teams in this league, the football standard is not great and we will all be disappointed if we don't gain promotion this season but I reiterate that if Robins keeps the 'club' going forward next year could be our year but obviously I and everyone else wants it now... Pusb keep the faith

Thats my fear too, definitely want automatic promotion don't think I could stand the pressure being in the play offs

Well yep and lately we have gone from 3rd to 8th and 4th to 9th etc. on the back of one defeat.

What's to say that, that won't happen on the very last day of the season?
I can see 1 and 2 being sorted before the final day but 3 though to 9/10 being open on the last day and at the moment we're not going to be in the top 2.

I know 'on paper' where the City are concerned is a bag of shite and pin the tail on the donkey scenario, but our last 6 games of the season are:

Yeovil - Home
Notts County - Away
Crawley - Away
Stevenage - Home
Cheltenham - Away
Morecambe - Home

There is definitely an opportunity there.

We have not put together anything like an unbeaten run all season. Think they best unbeaten run we have mustered is 4 games.

I have always been confident of at least a play-off place, but this is simply not going to be good enough if this is allowed to continue and I fear we could miss out.

No unbeaten run of any note. Then you look at Mansfield and their run of 1 defeat in 16 games.

Very worrying.

Very well done for enlightening us! Like we didn't know.

The other thing I would say(flip side of your argument) we also haven't had a bad run either which is also a maximum 2/3/4 games which include a draw or two. Max we lost is two on the spin twice this season.

Try focussing on the positives... always the same old shit when lose a game.

A very refreshing aspect of this season has been usually after a loss we react very well and follow it up with a win.

Everyone loses loses games in this division.

Luton who are smashing the league have lost 6 also.

Portsmouth won the league last year and lost 14 games.

Win 2 and lose 1, scenario gets us 82 points and possible 2nd or 3rd place.

Try focussing on the positives. I'm focussing on the positive that we don't have a bad run of any note.

We will make the playoffs at least.

And we have a keeper who has a few mares too. That just adds more pressure on us.

We started to create a lot more when Bayliss came in to the side. Seems a retrograde step now going back to Doyle and Kelly.

No two keepers who have had a few mares.

roblem wasn't Doyle and Kelly today.

Did you moan when they played vs Mk Dons or Cambridge or earlier in season.

Fact is today our wingers or lack were poor and so was Biamou for a change. And JCH wasn't much better when he came on.

We had opportunities today once we got back into the game in 2nd half but just let it switched off for one moment that cost us.

Well yeah, but then maybe our aspirations are different. For me it is top 3.

We both know that play-offs and then failure to win through the playoffs is just that, failure.

What we are doing at the moment is not good enough, because we are in the top 3 or 4 one game and then on the back of one defeat, back out if it again.

If that continues it could come down to us being out of the playoffs come the end of the season.

We clearly need to improve on where we are now.

Yeah, last week, 4th, but tonight 8th and out of the playoffs.

We cannot keep doing that because that is almost like playing Russian roulette and we also can't keep expecting to win every home game.

What we have at the moment clearly isn't good enough and I now have to agree with Grendel that if we carry on like this the likelihood is we will finish probably outside the top 7.

Have we been in the top three at all this season? Apart from right at the start? So I think our performances and ability are reflected in our current position. It looks like we will be fighting for a play off place. Hope I’m wrong and we improve and achieve autos.

That's because ones of our wingers was our central midfielders that had been moved out to be able to get Kelly in.

We played better when Kelly went off against mk also, he didn't play in the week.

We're unbeaten in 6 home games (won 5 drew 1). Only our away record is killing us.

Negative Burge comments again on this thread. Getting a joke now. Good performances consistently and let down by poor kicking (needs coaching to throw it instead perhaps) but top drawer saves most games and a good defensive record with many clean sheets.

Biamou who everyone seems to love, does work hard but has scored one league goal .... against Reece Charles Cook!

We are closer top 3 in the last two weeks, than other point in the last two months.

For example we were 10 points behind Notts County in 2nd place on December 9th. After we lost to Morecambe (let me add I was there...was worse performance than today.

And FGR are better team than Morecambe, they will easily avoid relegation.

What has changed for you today that you don’t think we will make top 3? Btw I still think we will and we are in a superb position to do so.

Why don’t you or anyone else get....we will lose games in this league. Everyone does. The champions of this league usually lose lots of games it’s the nature of the league.

What I don’t get is one week last week everyone was so positive and how can one performance change the thinking.

We just need a recap, after Jodie jones injury in November we would all have taken play offs. As that looked along shot in November. Never mind Automatic.

Btw I don’t buy your statement if we get to the play offs and fail through to get promoted it wouldn’t be failure. 80/90. % of fans would have taken play offs this yearbefore season began in the unknown. Considering Luton were always gonna storm it. Effectively only 2 automatic slots were up for grabs.

As it stands I think we will finish easily in play off but won’t be good enough for auto. We will finish 4th.

Imo we will do a Luton what they did last year. Finish fourth and not get through. But will be stronger next year. From the experience. Yes I will be hugely disappointed as will most fans.

I really hope our away form won't be the undoing of us to get into at least a play off position.

Today was Robins fault. Kelly had no right to walk into the first team in place of Shipley. Bayliss shouldn't have been moved out of position.

Burges handling in the first 30 mins was appalling. Dropped two routine balls, one almost resulted in conceding a goal luckily went just past the post.

He was fairly steady after that.

I fully agree with that. And once the injuries struck we were fucked as, the plan was surely to bring on for a tiring Barrett.

Yes your right he didn’t vs Cambridge but most on here were saying when we shit vs Cambridge in 2nd half this is where we need Kelly.

Mk dons got worse when they took their best player off. Awe full substitutes , Dean Lewington. Wasn’t all to do with Kelly.

There’s a lot of sense in this post London, and I can’t disagree with someone who supports the team so well, and sees the team play through thick and thin. Good on ya! PUSB!!
