Accrington 2 Swindon 1
Not a good result for us. Now 5 points clear of us.

We simply cannot afford to lose on Saturday. 8 points adrift would be massive deficit to make up. That's at least 3 wins and probably more like 5 or even 6.

A draw would probably not be a good result for us, dependant on other results. Defeat would be disastrous.

MR take note of how Swansea shafted Notts County who played the usual 2 banks of players defending deep that most of the teams in this shit league play.

You'd think so but Accrington have a horrendous run in. There last 10 games is against promotion or play off hopefully and Forest Green and Yeovil.

Accringtons last 10 games
Luton A
Forest Green H
Yeovil H
Mansfield A
Notts county H
Colchester A
Exeter H
Wycombe A
Lincoln H
Swindon A

No panic yet, if we beat Accrington we will be only 2 points behind them, with a good probability either them or Wycombe will hit a bad run of results. Personally I'm glad Swindon lost, I see them as a bigger threat than Accrington.

After the feb fixtures i feel we have a favourable run in... dont get me wrong i still think we are gonna fall short of autos unfortunately.

But they also have Crewe, Barnet and Cambridge.

As I say 8 points can be just 3 wins away, but only if you win all 3 and they lose all 3.

Yep, looking like it and we simply cannot expect to win every home game. It's just not feasible. There are going to be last minute equalisers and freak goals, and mistakes and dodgy pens and wonder strikes etc.

I think we will continue to do well at home, but we are not going to win every game.

A win is vital on Saturday, unless we can follow it up with a win at Colchester a few days later. That would give us 4 points out of 9, so not ideal, but maybe still hanging on in there.

our next 3 league games include Accrington and wycombe
by the end of Feb we could be right in the mix, or battling for 7th

Well they put away the side with the best away from tonight so I'd say they'd not fear anyone on current form.

Accrington will be too 7 for sure but they'd quite fancy the top 3 spots I'd imagine.

Tho half there final games are against some top sides.

With you all the way Otis we need to dig deep on Saturday and then bring Kyle Reid back for Tuesday to counteract the Stephenson effect for Colchester

I think we need to realistically forget the autos, were play offs at best currently with the squad available

better days

Will piss myself laughing at BBC sports if Newport pinch the win against Spurs main match will be Rochdale v Newport
Let's be fair apart from their own fans everyone else would prefer to watch anyone but Millwall in a live match
Agree it will be hilarious if Newport beat Spurs
But unfortunately not likely

I do think it would work. Reid turns it on when he feels like it and the Colchester manager was giving him some right stick after he got sent off (even though rightly so) and all but blamed him for the defeat.

They were winning 1-0 when he got sent off and ended up losing 4-1

Got a horrible feeling about saturday if im honest. Got a gut feeling one of those wonder strikes/last minute goals you mention will feature on saturday.

i cant give up the hope we can overtake the mighty Wycombe or Accrington

Well we're 5 points behind and other sides are currently in a good run of form that are in the play offs currently.

The next 4 games will tell us for sure

Mansfield away before Wycombe, so a very tough run of fixtures coming up

I am nervy. Think I would predict a defeat, but I do think the massive crowd could be like a 12th man for us.

The win isn't just for promotion aspirations, it's also there as a potential starting block for a new generation of fans.

Going to be a lot of impressionable kids there on Saturday. A win could have them hooked and coming back for more.

Massive game for us.
