Do we expect it to be anything other than a short extension? Uncertainty over future will obviously continue. I still think even if we get promoted this season if the medium/long term home of the club is not sorted then we will continue to struggle regardless of who’s in charge.

So if it is true we arrive at the same station this time next year. Great. While this whole sorry saga continues we will not move forward.

This community day will be to show Wasps of potential footfall to ensure a decent deal. Spend generously on Saturday to please the pests as much as it might grate

any delight they may have about the hot dog sales are negated by the clubs owners in court sayng they may owe about £30m

I heard it was a rolling 1 year agreeement which would make more sense I guess but doesn’t have any long term commitment wasps would probabaly want regarding stadium naming rights....

Not sure any mediation following the court instructions has even started yet.

They need a deal to be able to sign off the financials

1 year papers over the cracks buys time and means we are unstable for another season. Better than no deal but .....

It would be deeply uninspiring but at least we"d be still playing home games at our home for a minimum of one more season.

At 14:55 John Dalziel announces that he hopes everyone enjoys the game as it will be the last one at the Ricoh. We are then set to move to Milton Keynes with immediate effect.

Does this mean it goes from

"im not going / interested in ccfc because we dont know where we are playing next season"

to

"im not going / interested in ccfc because we dont know where we are playing the season after next"

Countdowns add a another season's worth while ignoring the football.

Shame it's only a year. would prefer a rolling year which gives some stability but hopefully means they are sorting out something properly long term that can benefit us.

Ha Wasps already giving it the hero line.

The agreement which was put in place to allow the football club to return to the city is in its last season. We fully appreciate the importance to Sky Blues supporters of their club playing in their home city, so we have agreed to a one-year extension with the football club.

Straight in with the bullshit again.

Breaking: Sky Blues to play at the Ricoh for another season

Did Tim Fisher write theirs? Smacks of the kind of thing he would write.

In fairness i wouldn't expect anything different.
It'd probably help relations if both sides could be honest publicly about the mutual benefits of the arrangement.

To be fair to Boddy at least he kept it to the point:

Coventry City are pleased to announce that they have concluded a new one-year agreement with Wasps Group for the Sky Blues to play their home games at the Ricoh Arena until May 2019.

Talks have taken place between Nick Eastwood, Wasps Group Chief Executive, and CCFC Chief Executive, Dave Boddy, since September and, with the help and support of the EFL, a new one-year licence has been agreed.

Dave Boddy said: “We’re very pleased to announce this agreement, which is a deal for the Club to continue playing at the Ricoh Arena until at least 2019.

“The talks have been very positive between us, and conducted in a spirit of co-operation, which I’m sure will continue as we look to further develop the relationship between us.

“Importantly, this agreement gives supporters the certainty of where they will be watching their team play next season and provides stability to the club.

“I completely understand the frustration that some supporters expressed about the minimal updates during the winter but we were massively restricted in what we could say publicly due to the fact that we signed a Confidential Non-Disclosure Agreement ahead of negotiations, but hopefully fans understand why this was the case ahead of today’s positive announcement.

“Now our focus turns back to football and the excitement of our first ever Community Day game on Saturday, when it will be fantastic to see a bumper crowd supporting Mark Robins and the team while setting a League Two record attendance."

Fisher wouldn't have gone about it like that I don't think.
