This is the most you have posted on this forum in months.

Could have predicted it. A Slade sacking and @Earlsdon-Loyal-Blue comes out of the woodwork!

Let's be honest, at the start of the season he signed Nathan Clarke, recently he signed Charles Vernam and Simeon Jackson. All were shit as fuck for us, yet Russel re-signs them!!! Slade has scraped 4/5 years worth of work on the basis of one good spell at Leyton Orient and that's a travesty. Non-league awaits you Russel!!

One of you two need to change your username, its too confusing!!!

TM couldn't recover from the massive missed opportunity the season before, lost his goalscorer and key midfielder and didn't replace. Blown the budget on more shite loanees and journeymen which left Slade with nowt to spend ontop of this ineptness as a manager. Both as bad as each other but would have TM over RS anyday!

It's easy. SkyBlue is the decent one and Loyal Blue is the twat.

Or is it the other way round?

I agree that in retrospect Mowbray should have done a lot better with the squad he had, look at the Legends day picture, it's sad to think he couldn't get that team in the top 6. I also think that he was guilty of building the team on sand, we were too reliant on loan players and come pre-season, he had an entire rebuilding job on his hands and he left it far too late to sign players and left us with duds. Needless to say I respect him as a manager and the buzz he brought back to the club.

Slade on the other hand, was just a clown. The only buzz he brought to the club was the buzz of the life support machine being switched off come February, with his horrendous tactics and diabolical signings. We were dead and buried by February thanks to him.

Imo it was Venus’ spell that killed us. Slade dug the hole a bit deeper to put the casket in though.

When Slade was appointed, we were 1 point from safety, by the time the clownwas sacked, we were 14 points from safety!

Slade pulled the trigger, organised the burial, dug a deep grave and pushed us into it. I will always be scarred by his spell in charge.

Embarrassing but at least Thorn tried his best and gave us a new manager bounce when he came in, the twat in the hat didn’t even manage that - his first game was a dreadful 4-1 spanking at Bristol Rovers

Thorns new manager bounce is a myth. His record in the championship was no better than the manager he replaced. Tried his best? What’s that even mean. Training sessions were evidence to the contrary from what I have heard.

What did they consist of, players doing keepie uppies whilst trying to balance a pint of beer on their heads?

Probably used pies instead of cones too.

His first 6 games were promotion form, won 3 drew 2 lost 1. In fact that form would have seen us promoted as champions of form over a whole season. Aside from that he was shit, granted, but it’s wrong to say we didn’t experience new manager bounce under him. Results clearly say otherwise for his first half dozen games in charge.

Exactly, don’t let the facts get in the way of a good rant Grendel. No myth, he did well at the end of that season. The next season he should of been fired.

No he didn’t the points per game was exactly the same as Boothrod. He was a lazy destructive influence who inflicted far more damage than Slade.

Hello tony his first 3 games were won one drew one and lost one. He ended that season won 3 drew 4 lost 2 a 33% win ratio and mid table. If you want to challenge me at least get facts correct and not lazily look at Wiki and believe his only defeat was Middlesbrough

Don’t recall saying his first three games was anything else. I talked about his first six games. Didn’t claim his stats were any good after those first six games, actually made the point of saying he was shit aside from the first six games. So if you want to challenge me at least read what I’ve posted so you understand what you’re challenging. He had new manager bounce for six games. That’s all I’ve said, I’ve not tried to make out it lasted any longer than that and I made the point that he was shit after that. What do you actually think I’ve got wrong when “challenging” you?

His first 3 games were relegation form Tony.

Four points from three games is relegation form? Try again. If that had have been our seasons form we’d have finished 15, three places ahead of where we did finish. It also would have seen us safe from relegation by 19 points that season. More Grendull “facts”.

Well at least you’re admitting it wasn’t relegation form, I suppose we can class that as progress. Again, if you’re going to “challenge” me read what I’ve written. I said his first six games in charge were promotion form. If I was to be pedantic it was actually champion form. But you keep arguing there was no new manager bounce and invent more Grendull “facts” if it makes you feel better.

They weren’t promotion form though were they? Honeymoon period didn’t last 6 games it was 2 wins in one week and that was it. You conveniently decided a honeymoon period started 3 weeks after the wedding and only lasted one week before divorce proceedings started.

Why? Just why do you continue with this nonsense? If you take his first six games in charge that form would have seen us not only promoted but promoted as champions. I’ve not cherry picked games 4-6 as you now seem to be insinuating I’m talking about games 1-6. Keep coming up with the Grendull “facts” if you like. It’s funny.

‘Grendel Facts’ state that Coventry City won the European Cup in 1980 and Marc Edworthy was actually a centre forward. Let him have his little imaginary bubble mate.

Nobody is in dispute that Thorn was shit and we all know he had a new manager bounce,
hardly arguing he was any good.

Moving on, Slade is definitley up there in the worst manager we have ever had elite. He’s statistically the worst manager we’ve had since WW2.

Could be but not from Dec/Jan onwards I doubt, which led to the need to get shot of
Boothroyd.

I think we were already going down before he came in.

No one had massive expectations of Slade, but they did of Mowbray. His disappointment has got to be worse. What an embarrassing failure.

Stop defending the incompetent buffoon, we were one point from safety when spade walked in, hardly dead and buried. Shit manager, topped off with his sports direct baseball cap

No the facts are that thorns record in season one was average and no better than his predecessor. I get it, you didn’t check the facts and now feel a bit embarrassed.

Another fact is that no other club would have employed thorn as manager. Instead of grabbing the opportunity he sat back and did nothing. Waggot made the signings and thorn just spend the whole of the next season complaining of his misfortune and how the owners didn’t help him.

Players were unfit and unprepared.

Where you argument of course really collapses is when Thorn had another job in management. Remind me - how did that one go. He was given a good budget by a generous owner. He lasted two months and fans were cheering in one game every time the opposition scored. They saw through the charlatan. Then having exited the club they went on a long unbeaten run. The hapless chairman meanwhile was forced out the club with a social media campaign due to the appointment of thorn. Thorn by the way tried to blame the owner for forcing him to play a defensive style. That’s thorn - always the victim

Slade didn’t work out and perhaps his days as a manager are now done. However let’s look at some more facts.

Russell Slade over 800 games managed and over a third won. Two manager of the year awards.

Andy thorn - sacked at the two clubs he’s managed and the second one lasting 10 games I believe

Him and Slade have almost identical records here by the way -a difference of 0.2%

Think you’ve decided to ignore your own point though. You said there was no new manager bounce when Thorn took over. He got 11 points in his first 6 games. I don’t think anyone but you is debating what he did in his second season or indeed the rest of his career. It’s well documented that he was a disaster of a manager overall BUT he did change our fortunes in the short term.

Edit: and for the purposes of completion, it had taken Boothroyd the previous 17 games to amass 11 points.
