too many key players injured... too many lightweights (8 Viewers)

I think thats it for this season... lucky to make play offs!

Look at all the key players injured, and what left is players like Shipley & Vincenti , who just aint putting it on the line ... when you have players like Jodi, Doyle , Grimmer & Andreu injured then you need your players like Shipley, Vincenti and Maguire-Drew to put it on the line & leave it all on the pitch, and make up for the lost quality with their desire... they simply aint. How many tackles / headers have we seen those players pullout off n recent weeks.

I might be emotional after watching another loss tonight, but we have had one decent free kick out of Shipley.. no disrespect to him, but he is the kind of player we should be easing in with a game every 3 or 4, not relying on him as our main creative force to supply McNulty!!!

Jodi jones, Doyle , Grimmer etc all playing, we were in with a chance... of them out & we just dont have the replacements

only player for me that has stepped up is Biamou ( who'd have though ) he looked ok for first alf tonight.

he aint on the pitch playing...

second half I thought we were th stronger side, so his half time talk must have done the job. Trouble is we didnt have that extra quality final ball or desire to get there... they did & sucker punched us

that said, I we played too many long hopeful balls that came straight back at us, we need to be more confident and play the ball up there.... if that is coming from the manager, then it aint good I agree!

He is the one who has continued to play players like Vincenti outwide.

Robin's decision making all season has been woeful.

No, he decides who plays though and the system.

Haynes, Barratt or Reid could have played there tonight.

If he doesn't have wingers, he should change the formation.
He wont ." I know best" attitude is only taking us 1 way in this league I will keep playing strikers who are not scoring , no wingers no game plan most of the season 2 D M players that I can see people saying how well he did in the 2 transfer window I think it was bad enough in the summer but the January window was worse player who are not up to match fitness cant do it . If he knows best lord help us

I for one do not understand the late substitution business. I do know that he wants to give most of the team the full 90 minutes to make an impact, saying "I'm picking the starting XI for the 90, I want you to do the job for the 90" but in that case why bring on a sub in injury time?????

Its ok playing his 1st eleven IF they are performing but clearly on some games they are not. Not sure how Bayliss played last night but the previous 2 games he hasnt looked good.. time to rest the lad put reid in from the start we need men now its trying to put too much on the kids with poor recruiting

The manager is the biggest bottlejob. We get back into it against the run of play, but he's happy to settle for the point rather than go for the kill when the game opens up.
Disagree we were well on top, he made a good substitution in jch for biamou, we had good momentum. Building up to the goal and after the goal.

Why change it when i theres no body i thought deserved to go off on 2nd half showing. Shipley linked up very well for a change on LHS wIth stokes.

Couldn't see who you woukd take off whilst dominating and knocking on the door.

We were on top without ever really troubling them apart from the goal, we needed to run at them while the game was open.

He was happy with a draw, he said he wanted to see the game out

A draw would have been a huge positive on that 2nd half performance.

Why would a draw be a huge positive?

Lincoln Won
Notts County Won
Wycombe Won
Luton Won
Accrington Won
Exeter have 2 games in hand

If we want to have any chance of anything we shouldn't be settling for draws and trying to kill teams off when we can. I doubt many of the other teams are going into games for draws.

To be fair - before the game yesterday i would have taken a draw... late subs grinds on me though
The mentality of wanting a draw when a team is there for the taking is why other teams will be winning games. The Wycombe and lincolns.

Half agree - before the game i would have taken a point - once we equalised whether you would have taken a draw or not you need to press on...

Taking a draw and playing for a draw is different.

It depends on how the game is and what options we have. If it was a 91st minute equaliser we got then it would have been a bit different.

However, it was clearly obvious he wasn't going to throw reid on for example to change it up. He then thought doing it with a minute to go would make a difference, it was predictable. That's what makes it even worse.

Interesting thoughts from the manager after last nights game-
“We are mentally week”. Now at the kit launch if anyone was there/can remember, I pressed Robins about dishing out contracts to “mentally week” players and losers. Oh.......,,,

How do you define a ‘loser’?

Not having a laugh genuinely wondering because I think even you don’t know.

If a player gets relegated but in the next season gets promoted by your logic he’s now a ‘winner’?

And Adge if you decide to read the article (this is your problem) you’d see he’s referring to the defending for the second goal and called that mentally weak not the players on a whole

I would agree with him it’s poor to defend like that in the 89th min and we need better if we’re going to do anything

Genuine question because I can’t remember, but aside from the fact we had far superior players to now, did Robins have these negative tactical tendencies in his first spell with us? I recall some big wins but can’t recall whether our overall play was more attacking or not.

Obviously he will say that to be diplomatic and not tread on individuals toes.
I also asked him how to get rid of the cancer that runs through the corridors at the club no matter who the manager, players are or how many times we change the kit. Again, skirted around the issue, “we have to change the mentality and get a more positive frame of mind” and that was about it.
I’m sorry but everyone bar 1 or 2 from last season should have been booted out of the door. What difference would 15 or 16 new players have been as opposed to 12-13 that were brought in? It was virtually starting again anyway.

So you can read our managers mind now too? Brilliant. You sure are very talented - referee, scout and now a mind reader

Just admit you were wrong

Also, if we did what you wanted we’d have 17 players. If you didn’t know, we need 18 to field a starting 11 and a full subs bench

But we would have players from the academy to supplement the squad wouldn’t we? You know how everyone loves to see “3 or 4 of our own” amongst it too.

Are you a parody?

You spend the majority of your forum existence slating these players. You literally said 10 minutes ago having 3-4 around the team is why we won’t go forward as it’s too much for them. Now if you were manager you’d want them to be rotation players? Unbelievable

I quoted what Robins said. That’s a fact, he did say that

Your response was to say ‘no he actually meant this’. That’s your opinion and not a fact unless you are Mark Robins himself
Well, might as well be-I can read his mind!

So what we have as your manager credentials so far:

1) Would go with a squad of 17 players to last throughout the season

2) Would wish season ending injuries on players you didn’t rate

3) Close down the only part of the club which makes a profit and the only way we make money to stay afloat

1 Did I not say bar 1 or 2?

2 Regrettable comment which was taken the wrong way (and apologised for) but keeps being used in debates.

3 Yes.
