Think you’ve decided to ignore your own point though. You said there was no new manager bounce when Thorn took over. He got 11 points in his first 6 games. I don’t think anyone but you is debating what he did in his second season or indeed the rest of his career. It’s well documented that he was a disaster of a manager overall BUT he did change our fortunes in the short term.

Edit: and for the purposes of completion, it had taken Boothroyd the previous 17 games to amass 11 points.

The new manager bounce has been deliberately set at 6 games - not 3 or 9 and we all know why.

The fact is we had a short-term upturn in results. Whether it lasted or not isn’t really up for debate, because we all know the answer to that one.

The other fact is Marlon King missed virtually the whole of March and then scored 6 in 4 games.

The upturn in form actually is two wins in one week with the returning King scoring the goals. That’s a blip not an upturn in form in the same way last season the first few games under Venus was the same.

The Earlsdon bloke said at least he tried. He did the opposite. As long he got paid he couldn’t care less.

He’s ignored the fact that everyone is in agreement on here that Thorn was shit and should have been sacked in his full season here! Nobody is arguing that he was any good!!!

Unfortunately that is a trend we know all to well. Just have to look at last seasons players/squad who were exactly the same.

He should never have been employed in the first place. You only to look on here to see how anyone who spoke out against his appointment was swiftly rounded on. There were predictions of him even going on to manage England one day.
