There are numerous permutations ready to come into play here, but I think that if we could get to over 84 points, that could give us a chance of automatic promotion. I'd welcome others views on this. We still have a chance!

Notts C found to their cost yesterday how difficult games involving teams fighting relegation can be. Of our remaining fixtures only 2 teams are genuinely fighting for something, Notts C & Lincoln are currently the only teams we play with a realistic chance of the playoffs, Newport & Crawley still have a mathematical although slim chance, and the remaining games are against mid to lower table teams who are not threatened with the relegation fight, and not likely to be.

Notts C 78 points
Exeter 80 points
Mansfield 78 points
6 wins required by us to have any realistic chance of autos I think, and possibly a draw as well unless we can rack up at least a couple of 3-0 wins

To me for most teams next 3 games are crucial and will give a better picture and outcome for where we are we just need keep winning.

Yep, that's pretty much as I have it too. 6 wins and draw I think will be enough.
Tough ask though to win 6 out of 8 and only lose 1.
Let's just keep ticking them off one game at a time.

You may well be right, but Notts County have been one of the best teams right up until recently and there is always the possibility that beating Wycombe, who have the best away record in the league might just give them that renewed boost.
There is no guarantee we will overtake them, but are much likely to do so if they continue to slump. A win for them against Wycombe might just give them the shot in the arm they are looking for.
For me the key is for all teams above to drop points wherever possible.
I think it is also much better for us to be above Notts County when we come to play them. They win on Friday that may well not be the case, the difference being when we come to play them if we are above them a draw will probably suffice. If we are behind them we may feel we have to win.
We can catch Wycombe over 8 games.

It is hard to see that both Luton and Accrington won't both achieve automatic promotion, and they are both guaranteed at the very worst a play off spot. I think people are overlooking the threat from both Lincoln and Swindon, especially Swindon who have a very favourable run in,the only top team they face is Accrington on the final day who may already be up by then. If Lincoln can beat Exeter on Friday they will be right back in the mix.
To me there are 7 teams chasing 5 spots, and at this moment it is hard to see which 2 teams will miss out.

I agree and agree on Swindon, which is why I was quite happy in some ways with Exeter beating them on Saturday. The more points behind us the better and that defeat kept them from keeping parity.
I am concerned about both Lincoln and Swindon, but at the same time it is now about what WE do as a team and as long as we keep getting positive results we will stay above both.

Out of the remaining games, only Notts County away "should" be a problem - but with 4000 of the SBA who knows
We have 8 winnable games . We need to win a minimum of 6 - and for the play offs probably 4

Yes definitely first choice would be a draw, close call second place id want Notts win.
If only because that reduces the forecast likely 3rd place points finish possible.

I do think having to win 6 out of 8 is a bridge too far, but win the next 2 and that requirement then comes down to 4 wins needed and it will look a lot more doable.
Plus inflict a bit of phsychological damage right now not further down the line . Yes Otis I disagree too ,purely on the basis Wycombe best case scenario of nominal 5 wins allows us 1defeat.
Add a Draw at County and we can't ,you have prrdicted we are likely to lose one.

if we win all 8 remaining games (which we wont do) that would give fair shout of winning the league or definitely finishing 2nd!
88 points is still 14 points away from where Luton are now. and they have only 7 games. so they will still need 2ppg to get near 88 points!

That gives us 83 points.
I can see Wycombe drawing a few. Notts County, Lincoln, Chesterfield, to name but 3.

We did say winning 10/11 from last 14 was too much of an ask. but we are on course. having won 4 and drawn 2 of last 6.
6 from 8 I think will almost guarantee 3rd place with a good goal difference. (Really hoping Wycombe lose or draw vs Notts).

Yes Swindon's next 4 fixtures are Morecombe h, Crawley a, Carlisle h, and Yeovil h. All those games they will probably start favourites to win. After that they still have Grimsby at home to come hopefully they will slip up in one of these matches.
