Christ, still scraping the barrel. Now it's about being available for an interview.
It’s not the availability it’s the “must” attached to it. Allocate a date but surely allow a little flexibility?
It seems to be a take it or leave it culture at the club in a lot of things.
I’m not arguing and this may be today’s culture but I’m saying IMO it’s not right.

Yes, people must go for an interview if they want the job and the date is put out in advance rather than getting 24 hours notice. They must also meet the basic requirements.

It's really not hard to understand.

My wife applied for a job at the Royal Mail, they rang her on the Friday afternoon and said she had 2 options for the interview which would be Monday Afternoon or Tuesday Morning so there was no way she could get time off at that short notice. If she had known a date a couple of weeks in advance she could have arranged time off.

Ignoring the wording. Its the same for pretty much everywhere. Moan about the way things have changed in recruitment ingeneral by all means, but no need to just target it at the club, and stick the boot in.

I've done a lot of recruitment, and you're not interviewed by one person anymore usually 2-3, but can be as many as 5. There may also be tests, psychometrics, apititure tests. These take time to coordinate diaries and organise the day, that's why interview dates are set before the advert go out and why its difficult to be flexible.

You know when you apply for the job whether you can be available (taking annual leave for example) so you know up front, and have time to pencil in the day just in case.

Exactly.

If you have a job already it's much better knowing in advance rather than getting a call asking you to go in the next day etc.

I'm targeting the club because I have applied to represent the disabled on several occasions (FOC)
I have also targeted the previous group on 2 occasions directly and through Jonathan Strange.
In all cases I have been told they will get back to me. The latest application in 5 days.
Nothing.
If this is the culture I don't want to be part of it.
CCFC have lost my support on this and my many disabled CCFC supporting friends will continue to be ignored by the club.
I'll get over it.

So why wouldn't you put that on the thread about the new fan group where it would more than likely get discussed seriously?

What will you do next, put it on the thread about the ticket offers as a reason for the offer being shit?

I had one interview with 9 (nine) people.

Might not have got the job when I opened the door and exclaimed (involuntarily) 'oh bugger'.

Great story. We've all been there.
Many years ago when BL Coventry Engines Plant closed I had about 3 interviews in one week.
I got one wrong and arrived a day late. They went through the motions by sending a junior interviewer.
Im sure he was the just the tea boy.

That's totally fine but nothing to do with the Executive Events job.

I'd say that's a different issue than this recruitment.

And tbf I'd say you have a point with this one... but you're in danger of it getting missed if you mix up the two.

(As somebody who sometimes fails to get back to people due to being overwhelmed I can sympathise with the other end, if also being able to accept your point!)

You will still be arranging the deck chairs as the ship sinks.
The club will be left with a few fans that it deserves if someone doesn't say occasional 'watch that ice berg'

I might put it on the ticket thread if it relates to the disabled having to queue at Butts Park or ring the unanswered phone there.

You aren't saying watch that ice berg, you are trying to slate something completely different to the thing you have an issue with when it's not related.

Why not put it on the new fan group thread where it is about exactly the thing you have an issue with?

It's a job application thread.
From experiences of dealing with the club I'm criticising the process they are applying in the hope of improvements.
I'm told that this is the norm and will have to accept that.
Doesn't stop me questioning the feedback process particularly in this instant messaging/ social media age.

You aren't, you are trying your hardest to find things to moan about a job advert because nobody has got back to you about something unrelated to this job advert.

In your opinion. In mine it's relevant.
They never got back to me and they are saying they will not get back to others on this one.

Why is everyone getting their knickers in a twist.

They probably already head hunted someone or know of ideal candidate and are just following a recruitment process to put it out there.

Fact is they really are not bothered. As they already have a someone in mind.

No, it's relevant to the thread about the fan group. Trying to nitpick everything about an unrelated job role just makes you look silly.

And I will point out you are talking shite, as others have in this thread.

It may be off subject to you but to call it shite means you are defending the indefensible.
As for the others, they are the usual 'few' so I have come to expect it.
One day you will realise why support is dropping even though you think the management of this club is acceptable.

What are you on about now?

Support is dropping because they put interview dates in job adverts as well as saying people might not get a reply? I think it says more about your desperation to be bitter.

Have a word with yourself. I notice you still haven't put anything in the thread about the fans group?

I've given up trying.
They don't give a hoot about the disabled so they are hardly going to bother about looking on a forum where they have half a dozen super posters relentlessly defending their every action.

Relentlessly defending or just pointing out there's nothing odd about the job advert? It seems to be you relentlessly trying to find something about it to be annoyed about.

This is getting a bit silly. Can't we all agree.

  • Recruitment ain't what it used to be.
  • CCFC's recruitment is following what everyone else does
  • Life was simpler in the old days
  • Somebody should have replied to italia ref: disabled rep.
  • Somebody should give me a massive pay rise and less work to do.

I occasionally receive applications for jobs that don't exist & I have not advertised for........so they go straight in the bin.

I also get occasional unsolicited phone calls from school/college leavers inquiring about job or training opportunities......but every single one to date has had such an appalling telephone manner, attitude & approach, they too get very short shrift.

I once told a girl who called out of the blue raving about her tin-pot social studies degree that if she said "like" one more time, I'd hang up....................she said it, I hung up & she called back to harangue me.....

....I told her "she was like wasting her like time".....and hung up again.....cheeky bitch.

Just to lighten the mood with evidence that the past was'nt always ideal..,,,,

In 1968 I applied to Alvis for a development engineer job
I was invited for interview and arrived in the Personnel Dept at the due time.
Unbelievably they then phoned the Dept concerned to arrange an interview.
Eventually I was interviewed, and was asked if I was ambitious; naturally I said yes
Oh, they said, we don't like ambitious people, they get fed up and leave

See I'm old school on this.
I've waited 4 weeks with no acknowledgement and I've already decided that because of this that even if they reply I can't work with them.
Don't forget that one is voluntary.
This is the second time this has happened as I offered my services to Jonathan strange and the old group twice a few years back.
Still no rep at the club, still have the disabled struggling on anything match specific, particularly away games.
black balled.

It hasn’t been decided who is on the new supporters group yet has it?

I was under the impression that those interested could put themselves forward and there would at some point be a vote.
