A terrible game which saw the worst defensive performance by a mile.

There’s zero point in explaining or analysing it. We need to accept we are still in the hunt - robins needs to get heads up and we move on.

Couldn’t agree more. If I’m going to put a positive spin on today then hopefully it’s the collective kick up the arse we need to get over the line for the playoffs.

Just what a I've been saying 6-2 and still in the play offs.

The Haynes off for Barrett cost us more goals, was the wrong change.

It didn’t really. Rightly the focus will be on Burge and the back 4 but they utterly dominated the middle of the park and were walking though us in the end.

Spot on Grendel. Just a bad day at the office. At least your favourite player scored twice

Yes made my day. The bloke behind me was also outraged that Haynes was taken off as he said he’s our best player by a mile.

If they weren’t injured love them or hate them it makes the substitutions of Burge and Haynes very odd just what Robins expected to change when 3 goals down with O’Brien and Barrett is beyond me !!

I've got a feeling we won't see Burge again. Unless he 'had an injury' of course.

Thoughts on Biamou today, Grendel? ;)

Always easy to achieve when the pressures off. He seems to be able to specialise in 30 yard volleys as well. Sadly they don’t come along that often.

I think the problem was today we were expecting a win and switched off, then 3 down in the first 20, confidence and ideas went out the window. We need to stop being complacent, must be more professional. Ends our non-losing streak but we have supposedly the easiest run in, still think we will at least get into the play offs .... then's the time we need to ensure we put a decent 3 results together.

Or now we are creating chances he can show not just effort but goals too. 5 chances 2 goals not bad

Well said.....today was awful, but we are still in the playoff places and it’s in our hands

Thanks Grendel - sums up how I feel. Was worried about today re: Yeovil being fresher. They looked half a yard sharper, aided by th boost of our early implosion. Notts County will be edgy following their recent downturn in results, and it is up to us (team and fans) to take advantage of that.

I think that's as close as we're ever going to get from you for praise on the lad, Grendel.

I thought he did very well and could easily have had a hat trick.

I would keep him in, in place of Vincenti for Saturday and that's now 3 goals in 2 games from him.

The difference between losing 6-2 or 4-2 was immaterial. Both Barrett and McNulty missed clear cut chances at 4-2. At least we ‘went for it’ — we could’ve easily ambled into the 4-2 loss.

I’m sure if anyone has played football manager, we’ve all been there losing 3 or 4-0 and went ‘fuck it’ and put it on overload and got battered. This isn’t totally different.

Thought Bayliss looked leggy - even that goal he created straight after half time through sheer willpower, he looked out on his feet - hopefully MR will wrap him up in cotton wool during the week, and Mr Doyle will get the ice bath and his masseur working on him.

Agreed Max's energy versus Vincenti (coupled with just as much of an aerial threat) - he's got to be sorely tempted to start him

Freak result and awful showing by many of the players. Yes it needs perspective and robins needs to earn his corn by getting them right to turn over notts on Saturday.

Why didn’t any other player find it easy then?

Anyway, agree with your OP. Onwards and upwards.

I hope that just because bayliss and Doyle got over run today he doesn’t go back to sideways Kelly

I'd do the same ,just leaves the conundrum of who will be the impact sub ?

Don't know which I'm more shocked by, having six put by us at home or me thinking Grendel is making some good observations !

The game was fucked up in 15 minutes so what followed is not tangible to our season. Put it in the bin and move on. There is still plenty to play for.

I’ve been thinking for a while we’d suit a 4-3-3 with a lack of an obvious RM. Bayliss, Doyle and Shipley in the middle like against Mansfield. With a combination of the following; McNulty, JCH, Biamou and Reid.

Reid displayed a few attributes I think we’ve been missing for a while. He wanted to take people on today. I think the defence really cocked it up today.

I'd go with that, but it stokes at lb instead as we won't need attacking full backs. Biamou right, mcnulty central and reid left.

I think synergy-wise Haynes and Shipley work well, but with Reid in the mix now, and after a terrible defensive display, Davies and Stokes should start the next match.
