There's going to be some Coventry fans who are pissed off Burge is in there.

To be honest, I'm more surprised Willis is there than Burge.

Both Academy graduates, 25 year old Goalkeeper Burge and Defender Willis have been included in the team of the year following votes from managers of other League Two sides. Burge has made 34 league appearances for the Sky Blues this season, while 23 year old Willis has played 31 times in League Two.

Well I, for one, think this will finally end the debate on here about Burge’s qualities and credentials. He MUST be the best goalkeeper in the division. End of!

People will be angry because he's been given plaudits.

Fact of the matter is, he's a very decent keeper at this level. The fact is that the two most disliked players are Haynes and Burge despite our defence being so solid this season (before yesterday).

Tbh I don’t know if Burge is particularly good in comparison to other keepers in this division. I do remember people being quite chuffed when we signed a new keeper at the start of the season. Personally I think he’s shaky.
Haynes on the other hand...I used to think he was complete shite but I’ve realised nobody is perfect.
I think Vincenti might be competing for most hated player...

I’m a little surprised to see Burge in the team of the year tho you can see how managers have voted given his shot stopping ability has saved us a good few points like at Chesterfield in his first league game and recently at Newport.

Likely got a smiling sympathy vote from Paul Tisdale at Exeter and Mark Cooper of Forest Green.

I personally think Accrington’s Aaron Chapman can feel very unlucky not to have been named, from what I’ve seen in the 180 mins and highlights weekly he’s been outstanding

Jordan Willis you can understand his inclusion as he’s got a good price tag and he’s blessed in too much athleticism for this level to go toe to toe with anyone but still has his moments of error but we’ve seen that from many opposition players in League two this season

Puts the club in a good position this summer should sides be interested from league one or championship

Howcome Ponticelli got nominated for the apprentice award over Bayliss? I thought there may have been a strict criteria but the FL site lists it as a player under 18 or turned 18 during the current season

Bit strange how Ponticelli has been nominated to apprentice of the season considering he's hardly even featured this season. I'd of though Bayliss was more of a candidate than Ponti. Still though, good to see any Coventry players getting recognition at all, whether I agree with the players chosen or not. Hopefully a few teams might be interested in putting in bids for Burge or Willis?

Willis is one of our players that can definitely step up a level & I've never bought into this idea that he is disposable & easily replaceable. On a more general point leading from that, I've also never quite worked out why, but there is a definitely a Cov thing where a large amount of our support seem to revel in putting the local lad down. I guess those people will argue it is to counterbalance the Cov Kid can do no wrong view, but some seem to really enjoy taking digs at Cov born players. Willis is regularly put down on here, as was Ponticelli earlier in the season before he had even made a start. Maddison had it before them too as did McSheffrey and Marcus Hall. Before my time but I read that Bobby Gould also got dogs abuse when he played for us back in the day despite a pretty impressive scoring record.

I was actually fuming, that Hyam was in his place whilst he was fit. Willis has really looked like this level is too easy for him. Way too gracefull for this league. Yes he’s had a couple of bad games.

The apprentice award is not just about playing, it is also based on off the pitch work, academic performance and community work.

Obviously only in there because of the goals scored stat.

If that was the criteria, why are there 3 Luton defenders, and only one Cov defender? We have a better defensive record... Also, both Forde (Cambridge) and Stech (Luton) have more clean sheets.
