Does this suggest Sisu are backing us a little more?

Can anyone shed any light on if agents can still take a cut of any future transfer fees their player moves for?
I know there’s rules against third party ownership but I’m fairly confident Wolves have got around this with Mendes as otherwise he wouldn’t have brought several high profile players he represents there.

I’m surprised our amount is as high as it is. Thought McNulty, McDonald and Andreu would of commanded 5-10k each in signing on fees but don’t know where the rest has come from

We paid for Davies and McDonald was well so not sure if their agent would have got some.

Perhaps slightly misleading as would include time in L1 too. Needs to be taken as a whole and include transfer fees as these are likely to be instead of fees paid to the clubs.

In fact a table of agents, transfer fees and direct salaries combined would be the real measure to see where we sit.

Would the buying club not sort the fees?

Unbelievably dwarfed by the Premiership figures. I know it's a different world, but utterly ridiculous. The lowest spending were Huddersfield at £2.46m in agents fees, which is well over double our entire league combined.

No it’s buying clubs that pay fees

You'd need more detail for true comparison
Agents fees are paid in instalments - sometimes using the same basis as the transfer fee
Most transfer fees even at Premier League level are paid in several tranches with the schedule set out in the transfer doc's
I'd guess that these figures include some partial agents' payments for the players signed in League 1

Parasites and bad for the game, players should pay agents if they want them but clubs should have to give them nothing

It could suggest that most clubs are prepared to pay less than CCFC. You wouldn't suggest that our player trading has been far superior to any other teams in the division. It also depends on how many players have been brought in by each club. The worry is that the figure is so much more than just about everyone else and yet we are still vulnerable to failure.

We were told that the budget was in the top 25% or so we were not told we were spending the most

Mansfield were touted as big spenders this season but still spent 28k less than us

Do agents receive a fee for contract renewals or for academy players stepping up to the first team squad? I would expect so. I don't think there are many players without agents including players in the older age groups of the academy?

The amounts paid to agents are I understand included as part of the costs calculation for the SCMP budget

The only backing, financially that SISU have done I would think is covering any shortfall in operational cashflow much as they have for the last couple of years. The crowds are supposed to cover the budget the manager is given....... it hasn't this year I believe, and certainly not in the previous two years when SISU had to stump up £500k each year.

I would think squad assembly and its costs including agents is pretty much down to Robins and his management team........ SISU would only get involved in signing off contracts and setting him a budget to work within.

I'd be surprised if we weren't paying a loan fee for JCH.
Do agents get commission on loan fees?

There could also be some cash tied up in there from CCFC paying an Agency to act as a scouting firm for them, and for an agent to act as an intermediary on their behalf in transfer negotiations. Agents don't just get cash from players moving clubs these days.

Interesting to read last year “little village side” Forest green spent £174,000 trying to get to the football league.

Also last year we spent £237,000 from feb 2016-jan2017

Interesting to see Blackburn’s 764k spend, more than half the league together.
Wigan 500k too
