It's fine because he's only ever played for Norwich, Peterborough and Palace. Never Coventry... Or Northampton for that matter!!

When fit (granted that was not often) he was one of the very few who seemed to put alot of effort in.

If your brimming with effort but lacking in ability, you're ok in my book.

ROD was never good enough for us and I admit I was quite relieved to see him go, but I wish him all the best and have no bad words for him as he always gave all of what he could, even if that wasn't enough.

Agree 100%. Effort is all that you can ask from a player, hence why I would always give rod a bigger cheer as a sub than fat Freddie.

No excuse but he has been through a very hard time in his personal life...like many of us have which resulted in him trying to take his own life. I do hope that when he comes out he is able to finally confront his demons and enjoy the rest of his life. As a player he flattered to decieve but on his day he was a cracking player. The injuries which contributed to him being so desperately unhappy can't be blamed on him

I think as was proved with Gary Speed, you can have millions in the bank but still suffer from the illness that is depression. Not sure if you're referring to the fact he was injured all the time and still picked up that wage or he was loaded so had no reason to be depressed?

Oh please, stop the bleeding heart liberal shit.

He couldn't have been that bonkers coz the judge said that the web of deceit he spun trying to get off the charge was complex and well planned.

Another washed up footballer turning to crime, what a front three though, McK, Hughes and King. We can sure as hell pick 'em!;)

You can add Ian Wallace to that list!

Bit harsh, made a drunken mistake and paid the ultimate price, not once has he asked for any special treatment or tried to spun a web of lies. He accepted what he done and took the punishment.

Don't think it was him that paid the ultimate price...that would be the 8 and 10 years old children he killed with his 'drunken mistake'! Their families paid a far bigger price as was the case with Lee Hughes drunken, coked up mistake!

Yeah I get what you're saying, difference being that lee hughes is an absolute cock, he was on the run for a week or so, put the victims family through a court case, at least McCormick faces up to what he done and took it without putting the family through any more.

Oh well if he accepted it then that makes it ok .... except he will be out in three years as opposed to a family torn apart. He has since had a baby himself and will no doubt return to the game and earn a good living.

I also wouldn't call it a mistake. He knowingly drove there and then drank knowing he had to be away early next day. I'm sure he could have got a lift or afforded alternative transport.

Am I perfect? No. Did he mean to get in and kill someone? No. However, absolutely no excuse for that and in a powerful car and at speed. He knew exactly what he was doing and the risk he took.
