I’m sure I heard the Lincoln chairman say he’s willing to invest a million if they reach L1.

I agree with most of what you say but not on this. I want to see us win but I want to see us win playing good football. Anyone growing up watching the Fergie, Wallace and Hutch team of the late seventies will know how exhilarating that football was. That is the style I would like to see us at least aspire to play. I also hate the timewasting and cheating that went on last night and would feel the same if we were doing it. It is ant-football and needs to be stamped out.

I agree about JCH. Needs to stay on his feet and stop falling over. I think McNulty takes a lot of stick and I don’t see him going over unless he has forced to.

I’ve witnessed those two brothers every time they have been to the Ricoh in the corporate areas. Sniffing around the areas trying to catch the attention of anyone representing CCFC in a club suit etc. Shifty pair walking around as if there looking to catch the eye of Fisher to kick off a conversation. I thought about it before these two think there bigger and better than the club there at looking for a bigger club. Called putting them self’s out there.

Ha ha yes, I’ve praised them a lot this week. Several promotions to there cv, with cup success too climbing up from non league.

Young English managers breaking into the pro game still having success in a cut throat business where every supporter can do your job and better and bringing success to every club they’ve managed and reigniting a fan base at Lincoln.

Just the thing a club like us would love.

Do agree I’d like to beat them in the final tho deploying some of the tricks used against us from that of Lincoln, Accrington, Notts County....

If the trick is lump it at a shit defence and hope they cock up then it's a masterstroke. Even when we played Grimsby at home there was McSheffrey going on about how Robins always sets up the same way and you know what to expect. So much success at this level comes from exploiting mistakes rather than outplaying the other side. Giving shite opposition confidence boosts is a City specialty and no doubt we have given out a lot of presents this season.

Indeed. Nothing to do with homework, they played to the players at their disposal. We failed to defend it properly. Making out it was some sort of master class belies what actually happened. We should have scored twice second half so we weren't exactly bossed.

When it came to actually football on the deck They looked like rabbits in headlights. EVERY time Grimmer or Bayliss or Kelly ran at them they couldn't handle it. Just an old fashioned, body on the line, throw yourself in the way block. In terms of footballing ability, they have zero, in terms of grinding out wins using hoofball and bully boy tactics, they're the team to beat.

Yep. I was shouting to the ref from the stands but I don't think he heard me.

For the freekicks it was right in front of the player, not just a few yards back, it was right over the ball every time. Players clearly should have been booked for that.

Rhead's time wasting was a disgrace and they were clearly rotating the fouls too.

Hated the way they played. That's not the way to play football and I honestly think if City ever deployed tactics like that for a season I would stop going up.

About mid way through the 1st half I could see a change was needed. I'd of went 3-5-2. Using Davies to sure up the CH position and nulify Rhead, and using Grimmer and Haynes/Reid as wing backs, giving them freedom to run at them and leave the 3 CH to worry about defending.

That just about sums it up. Penalty to us, no goal for them. We would've gone on and won that game comfortably. Pontecelli wouldnt have missed, they would've been panicking and it would've been one way traffic. All because of one glaring cock-up by the ref.

And as this is about the Cowley brothers, clearly they would love the Coventry job. But no, I would not want to play football that way. Maybe they have more about them, and they are playing this way because that is the way you need to at this level with the squad they have? Who knows.

I feel uncomfortable however if we gain advantage from unfair means. Would obviously much rather we won fair and square, cos we all know if we get a dodgy penalty it is more than likely we will have one against us in return down the line.

Just because gamesmanship is part of the game itself doesn't make it right. That is a feeble excuse.

That's like saying people have always tax dodged.

When England won the World Cup it was a great achievement, but what do most people talk about? About that goal that was given that probably shouldn't have been.

Wouldn't it have been that much sweeter if we had won it without that dubious goal that gave us the 3-2 lead? And you can't just say we won 4-2, because we don't know that without that 3rd goal we would have then gone on to get the 4th.

If I was a French supporter I would have been delighted we beat Ireland a few years back (Thierry Henry), but I wouldn't be happy that our player scored the winning goal with a deliberate handball.

Of course I want to win and cheer every goal and every pen, but that doesn't mean that the decision behind it was correct.

If we had beaten Spurs in 87 by foul means that would be all that anyone would be talking about for decades and decades.

People still talk about Geoff Hurst and Maradonna and Henry etc. etc.

We should all strive for a fairer game and want to root out the divers and deliberate time wasters and the shirtpullers and the spitters etc.

They are cheats. Plain and simple.

This is another of my pet hates - there should be a break in the advertising triangles so that the ball boys can be quicker when we are loosing - they should be allowed to put the ball on the line ready for the lazy *ucker opponent to get on with it - they should all be capable of a goalie throw - if you saw the Champions league game there was only a few seconds lost as soon as the ball went out - ok they have more money but who wouldnt want to be a ball boy - i'd do it and i'd be a billion times quicker if we were loosing - its an area where we are not optimising -!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
