Make no mistake here, the first thing, potential last game of the season at home , no drive, fans will be disappointed against a club who are in the bottom area, the second thing is the convenience of the result ... Forget all other factors , why did Cov not try and win the game ?

I hope this does not come back and bite us . just saying ...................

If we'd have thrown men forward, lost to a goal on the break and missed out on the playoffs do you think people would be saying - 'thats fine, no problem at least we were sportsman like'?

We needed a point and got it, neither team needed to take any risks and didn't. First half we tried to win it and Bayliss almost won it for us in the second. If it was fixed did someone forget to tell Bayliss?

This will be looked at by the FA for sure, Cov should have gone out and won it. The problem Martin Allen big media presence is already mouthing off , he a fave kid with the beeb and commercial media. Shit flung will stick here. Playoffs on ice me thinks , it seems Sky now on bandwagon....... another Robins fuck up

Coventry

They are going berserk.
'How many times have they done this now?'

Err, just the once, against your lot.

They are jumping up and down over gossip and hearsay. Let them watch the highlights tonight and see we could have scored 3 on another day. Morecambe keeper had an excellent game.

Last 20 mins, yep, played out for a draw. Morecambe set out at that point to not at all come forwards and We were relectant to risk anything. Absolutely not a jot of cheating there today.

Won't stop Sunderland though.

A lot of Cov fans during the match calling this dodgey, even on here .

Why would they say that at 65 mins?

Bit dramatic. In the unlikely event the FL decide to look at it they will see a couple of blinding saves from their keeper and that will be it.

Our players not going all out in attack on a hot day when we only need a point is a million miles away from pre-arranged match fixing.

Have you not watched the highlights?

JCH should have scored, Doyle went close and Bayliss nearly scored.

How is that not trying to win the game? We gave it a go at first and then settled for the draw with 15 mins to go.

it is disengenous to say we didn't try and win the game. The last 15 mins or so, yep, I agree, but before that we did have chances to win and did try.

Cos we wanted the City to win. I did too. I really wanted us to win the game. However, a draw was good enough and as soon as morecambe refused to come out of their own half it became a lot tougher for us.

Stats show we had 9 shots as well.

Stokes hit one just over the bar and JCH had a good chance with a header, but mistimed his jump.

It was fixed. Ffs

It was a draw likely game and it was a draw. We earned the right to be ahead with a game to go. We didn’t have to go for it and indeed win. Come 0-0 with 20 minutes left it was naturally going to play out. It did.

Just means we can add Morecambe to the list of teams we've never beaten in a league game, along with Forest Green and Accrington.

Barnet just like sunderland were relegated because they were the worst teM over a season of 40 odd games. Not because of one match. Some people need to get a life and be happy we are in the playoffs. Who gives a fuck about other teams we support ccfc and we got the result we needed

Why will it ? Mansfield drew, needed to win, doesn’t matter if we lost 5-0 we would still be in play offs,

Exactly.

The heat, players tiring, Morecambe sitting right back and both sides only needing a draw.

Goodness me are Sky Blue fans never satisfied? Every football game is played tactically to get the outcome you need. i.e. play for a draw, try and win,try and get more goals etc etc. It's all about what is required. Should we try and win in our playoff game 1st leg and if we do play for a draw in the 2nd leg? Of course that's what we will try and do. That's football.
Today we needed a point and not lose the game. We exerted ourselves enough to try and win but as the game went on we took not risk, kept it tight, risked no injuries for the playoffs to come. Sensible game plan once we passed 60 minutes. Morecambe? Well risk a few breakaways at the start but as the game progressed a point was needed so 11 behind the ball and make sure you don't lose.
That's football tactics to a tee. had we gone gun ho we may well have left gaps and lost to a breakaway goal...not what we needed to do. We played within the boundaries of what was needed, no riak and got the point and a playoff. That was our right to do. it may have been a drag but we are in the playoffs, McNulty is injury free and we have a chance to get promoted. Morecambe will say they worked hard for their vital point to stay up...would you deny them that?

It was a boring game but that routine where their goalie and JCH collaborated was suspicious...who cares we are in the play offs...fuck em

On the break? They would need to go out of their half for that.

Robins has set up a lot of games this season by firstly not losing then get a draw unless we happen to score and win...football all over plus 2 teams that are nervy, both need a point they tried a bit we tried a bit !! It wasn't the finale we wanted but hey we got there

On the stats we had 9 shots to Morecambe's 2, so we clearly tried to win. In the scheme of things we needed only a point to get into the playoffs so we weren't going to go gung ho.
Add to this that Sunderland fans are the biggest whinging thick fuckers, who have a massive chip on their shoulders, then clearly it wsa a fix.
Surprised we haven't been accused of fixing all their games this season for them to be so shit.
