What’s the problem?

Every single other team would of done what we done. It wasn’t a fix it was just how it played out. Ffs
Exactly. Pathetic idea that the draw was pre-agreed. Why doesn't the poster use their time to celebrate us fibally burying that monkey of '40+ years since Cov finished in the top 6 of a division hahaha' (even if it is now top 5 not top 6), or our first ever play off place?

Ahaha f**k Sunderland!!! Was thinking about signing up to their forums but we still have along way to go before stooping to their level!

Goodness me are Sky Blue fans never satisfied? Every football game is played tactically to get the outcome you need. i.e. play for a draw, try and win,try and get more goals etc etc. It's all about what is required. Should we try and win in our playoff game 1st leg and if we do play for a draw in the 2nd leg? Of course that's what we will try and do. That's football.
Today we needed a point and not lose the game. We exerted ourselves enough to try and win but as the game went on we took not risk, kept it tight, risked no injuries for the playoffs to come. Sensible game plan once we passed 60 minutes. Morecambe? Well risk a few breakaways at the start but as the game progressed a point was needed so 11 behind the ball and make sure you don't lose.
That's football tactics to a tee. had we gone gun ho we may well have left gaps and lost to a breakaway goal...not what we needed to do. We played within the boundaries of what was needed, no riak and got the point and a playoff. That was our right to do. it may have been a drag but we are in the playoffs, McNulty is injury free and we have a chance to get promoted. Morecambe will say they worked hard for their vital point to stay up...would you deny them that?
If us passing the ball about because we want to hold on for the point is cheating, then so too is taken the ball into the corner flags right at the death of a game.

I don't see how retaining possession is cheating.

Just look at Lincoln against us. Feigning injury every 5 mins. Now that IS cheating.

Where does this hatred from Sunderland fans come from? We played them at the Ricoh in 2005/06 and there was no bad feeling whatsoever from both sets of supporters from what I can remember. The first time I was aware of it was when we were relegated from the Championship

So Morcombe get the draw they needed by sitting in there own half second half. In the end we could have lost and still got in the play offs. What exactly are Sunderland and Barnet moaning about? I had to pay to watch it, they didnt.

Some of the twats don't realise even if we'd lost today we would still be in the play offs. Absolute brain dead morons. I'm fucked off with fans of other clubs who feel we have some obligation to save them from the drop by risking our own position, grow up you cockwombles.

I would just ask anyone who thinks the match was fixed, as to why JCH blatantly dived, trying to win a penalty in the first half?

The Morecambe players gave him a lot of grief over that.

I can't tell if you're being serious or on the wind up. I hope it's the latter.

If it's the former then get a grip.

Anybody with a modicum of a footballing brain could have written the script of today's game. What did some people want? A rerun of Yeovil or Lincoln. I assume that it is the 6,000 who turned up for the second time this season that are doing most of the bleating about the means to an end

The BBC stats seem to show that we did have a go. 9 shots at goal.

Compared to the week previous against Cheltenham, we had 16 shots and got 6 goals.

Take out the goals (and shots) at Cheltenham, the stats are pretty similar.

So if anything can be gleamed from this result, the attacking effort was there, if the finishing wasn't. And at 80 mins, with so much riding on the result, you're not going to want to go full-on and leave yourself open at the back.

Oh shut up, what a load of drivel!! If the FA investigate why we didn’t win we have many many years of fines coming up!! The 2 cracking efforts in the first half alone showed intent. At 0-0 second half no way was either side, but mostly them going to risk anything. We needed a point and played the game and opponents in the right way to get it. You telling me we have opened up anybody this season that have had 11 behind the ball? Mansfield failed to win - we had a team finish below us in play offs!!

Won't stop the urban legend developing though.

Some on the phone in yesterday were even saying that save by their keeper from JCH wasn't a very good save and that it was hit straight at him.

If we'd have thrown men forward, lost to a goal on the break and missed out on the playoffs do you think people would be saying - 'thats fine, no problem at least we were sportsman like'?

We needed a point and got it, neither team needed to take any risks and didn't. First half we tried to win it and Bayliss almost won it for us in the second. If it was fixed did someone forget to tell Bayliss?
I think they did. That pass back was almost telegraphed to their keeper in the 2nd half....

I'd rather support a team that plays for a draw when a draw is all they need than support a team that knowingly protected a child molester because he happened to be their best player and they were desperate to stay up tbh
Ahem, Marlon King.......

It's gamesmanship, I don't have a problem with it necessarily. Obviously it's annoying when used against us, but we can do it back. It's not the USA where there is no such thing as a draw. Morecambe quite literally had all their players behind the halfway line for the last 20m, barring a freak 7-0 (or whatever) Barnet win, a draw is all Morecambe needed, so they weren't going to open themselves up to attack unless they needed to.

At times, the extent we didn't attack, however, did take the piss in the 2nd half, but again, if everyone in the stands knew what the other scores around us were, the management were clearly in the know too. Lincoln and Mansfield drawing, so too were Notts County, we weren't even play for home advantage in the playoffs!

Some people need to relax.

Good to see Richard keys piping up. What a dickhead, when was the last time anybody could tell he was a City fan?

Wonder if there will be mass vitriol towards Man City after their game petered out like ours, with them having fewer shots on target than us yesterday :emoji_thinking: didn't need a win to achieve their goal and could only muster a 0-0 draw in a game that Huddersfield's relegation rivals would have been expecting a comfortable City win. I won't hold my breath
