Here's a question:

IF we get to Wembley, how many would we sell?

I don't think it would be near last year, even if we did get the allocation.

Just had the email saying 15K sold
They're not downplaying it are they, like the old HR days with a director getting one turnstiles take.
And remember everyone it's a 7-30 pm KO not 7-45 as someone posted earlier.

Sad to see people thinking 20k is a good crowd. People have accepted we belong in the lower divisions.
I don't think that people have acceptedthat we belong in the lower divisions. Rather, they have accepted that we are in the lower divisions, as opposed to those that are living in the past by insisting that we should still be a Premier league club.

I get that but let’s say it was Leeds as an example in a league 2 play-off semi. Elland road would be packed to the rafters. It’s not about where we are in divisions, it’s the fact the fan base is there but just can’t be arsed to go.

Biggest & smallest average attendances for a few clubs we might class ourselves as 'similar in size' to

Southampton 31,699 biggest, 9,837 lowest (3rd div)- won championships & FA Cup
Leicester 31,998 biggest, 10,694 lowest (2nd div)- won championships and League Cup
Forest 32,501 biggest, 8,264 lowest (2nd div)- won championships, League Cups, European Cups
Derby 33,087 biggest, 9,965 lowest (3rd div)- won championships, playoffs
Palace 30,167 biggest, 6,446 lowest (2nd div)- won championships
Blackburn 27,552 biggest, 7,125 lowest (3rd div)- won championships
Stoke 31,590 biggest, 8,288 lowest (3rd div)- won championships

And us..... 34,703 biggest, 9,118 lowest (4th div)- won FA cup

I don't think we have too much to worry about- get this club motoring and we'll be shocked how many want to get on board. Things have moved on- the machine that is football would mean we'd be swapping the complaints about low crowds for complaints about the 'new fans'

Bought 2 tickets for me and my best mate....I was proper excited about the game and so bought the tickets. He said he couldn't be arsed to go.....exact words!!

Anyways - I'm taking my Mum for her first game at the Ricoh and she's 76. So all this talk of raising the roof and an amazing atmosphere is worrying me now. So can I ask that we applaud politely and cheer is a really gentle way.....and no swearing of course.

Please have some consideration for our older fans.....at least till I've got her a bit tipsey. I haven't seen it yet, but is there a sherry bar where I can grab a plastic scooner of sherry.

Thanks guys

Not at all, our average gate is 9k (which is skewed by a 28k attendance vs Accrington). Our highest average over the last 40 years is 21k. Why on earth would you necessarily think it should go another 25% beyond that?

Because it's a one off huge game.

This isn't season ticket sales or any average league game, this is our first ever play off game.

Unless there is a valid reason, you can't be much of a supporter of Coventry City if you don't go tomorrow.

Sit her in block 14 where it's nice and quiet.

Yeah - I'll tell her its such a great seat.....right by the big television screen so she doesn't have to bring her glasses

What’s a valid reason to you? People have said in this thread they simply can’t afford it as they have families and instead will watch it on Sky. I don’t think anybody needs a ‘valid’ reason it’s a choice and makes them no less of a fan

It’s a big game yes it is our first involvement in the play offs but it’s also at the lowest level majority of our fans have seen us at. There’s been little movement in crowds all season

Yeah but there's nothing else to do in Yorkshire except drink and go to the football..... same reason why Norwich and Ipswich always get big crowds. We've got the internet and electricity in the Midlands so there's more options for "entertainment".

16k sold now...

I think that is a little disappointing at this stage, surely they would have been hoping for circa 18k by now?

That doesn't add up. We've sold a load more in the east stand, main stand is all but sold out as is hospitality. We had 15,800 against Morecambe when they only bought 800 whereas Notts are apparently around 3,000. I don't understand.

Haven’t the front 3 rows of blocks sold been lost for h and s?

Says on an earlier CCFC post, just over 16k (in total) so still would hope for pushing /breaking 20k with walk up (it will be poor of Notts County if they can't sell 4k for this on a Saturday) If they do. I am confident we will hit the 20k

Fairly sure Notts County sales bottomed out at around 2500 middle of the week, can’t expect more than 3k for them, they don’t have the backing to get a huge surge etc. 3k for them is big but in the context of the game and distance not brilliant.

I just counted 28 seats in the front row of block 18, thats 84 for the block and, counting every block from 14-24 the same even though some of them have very few seats at the front, the total for what was open last week would be 924 seats netted off.

We've completely sold out the other seats in 14-20 with only a handful left in 21-24, which wasn't the case last week, with some extra in 25-28. Main stand is almost all gone too. 16k is only half the attendance, I don't see how you fit in another 16k behind one goal and a few block of the other goal.

I do tend to agree with you tbh, looks more like 18/19k to me

According to Notts official site they’ve just posted that ‘over 2600’ have ordered tickets before the cut off
