Nolan

All down to the people in the middle of the park
awful decisions have cost them
got it completely wrong, cost them dearly
they had momentum at 2-1
had coventry pinned back and ready to go
knocked the wind out of them
absolutely gutted

Have to say Notts County were unlucky with decisions. But at the same time I don’t give a fcuk. Even if decisions had have gone their way we’d still be in the final.

Classic siege mentality.

Even if they’d brought it back to 2-2, we still would have won. They came out all guns blazing and we weathered the storm and after that they had nothing.

If he’s truthful, which I hope he will be in private, their defence was poor. They gave us far too much space and they we got nearly every loose ball. If he’s going to develop as a manager, he needs to wise up.

At the time the one with biamou I thought ref got it right...foul...yes county player bit late but genuine attempt at ball. Just seen it on highlights and he should of walked; takes out biamou then goes down clutching his head although it is clear he never touched head on any part of biamou.

They were second best in every position tonight 1-11. They possibly did have a couple decisions go against them but could easily have had one or two sent off. At the Ricoh their best spell came when they played the ball on the deck and tonight I thought they mixed it up well first 20 second half. Nolan has to recognise that and perhaps change his tactics at start of games. If not he will be sacked next season when they fail to get promotion .....AGAIN!!!!

Indint known how any sane cov fan could not admit we got more ref decisions than they did over 2 legs

Do you think they could/should have had two players sent off tonight. If one of them had walked first half they wouldn’t have got it back to 2-1 and would have been buried by h/t

The guy with his head in mcnulty face.
The guy who already on a yellow then took out biamou and went down clutching his head when clearly his head didn’t come into contact with biamou. Simulation. Second yellow...off

Did any of you go to the game ? County got creamed by the better football team . NO DOUBT about it . Credit where credit is due , city out played them , out fought them , and were just the much better side . No luck. No bad decisions. We were better.

I agree. Overall superior team won.

No-one can dispute that. If they do , watch a reply of game!!!!

If they still disagree, watch it again.

The head assault on McNulty. Seen it again on the highlights and just as amazed he wasnt redcarded as I was at the time.

Shocking decision.

And the ref should've told the Notts captain that the next one that fouls Maxime gets booked. Kicked to hell and back tonight.

From watching it on Sky I would say:

* Notts County had a good goal ruled offside
* Max’s second was offside (twice)

...I don’t think I’d agree that their guy who was face to face with McNulty deserved a red; he didn’t actually headbutt him, and Sparky did his best to rile him up too. The challenge from Duffy on Biamou was nasty and I agree he did his best to feign injury to misdirect. Max was kicked all over the park tonight so he deserves credit for that too.

Thing is, we may have had a few lucky calls go our way over the course of both legs and Nolan may be justified in being miffed, but who cares? We were the better side, playing attractive passing, attacking football that was by the Sky commentary’s own admission too good for this level. We deserve to be in the final and if we can bring that play against Exeter I believe we’ll be going up.

We made our own luck. Over the two legs we created more, better chances than Notts County did.

The decisions that went against them were significant insofar as they needed all of them to go their way in order for them to remain competitive in the tie, whereas the ones that went against us ended up being irrelevant because we created and converted more goal scoring opportunities.

You can go crazy with the what ifs, e.g. what if their second goal had stood, would they have had the momentum to win? No one can ever know, it’s not that simple, but I’m just glad that for once it’s not us looking back at what could have been.
