If Forte is as good as some are making out, why are Notts releasing him ?

Could be a number of reasons, it’s not all as clear cut as is he shit or good when offering or engaging in new deals.

It’s every bit as likely that he was on a good wedge as they signed him from L1 Oldham. Maybe they feel they can get better value elsewhere. Decisions like that you only find out half way through a season tho, or it could be as simple as clearing the decks and moving in a new direction and not being in the plans going forward

Notts county chairman has come out and said they are on the look out for players who have skill and pace, and prepared to pay a fees for players and notably for a 20+ goal striker.
Seems county are changing there style and approach play and going to be investing a few quid over the summer.

Kristian Dennis of Chesterfield is strongly linked the last few days as has John Akinde been mentioned too.

Because of his links to Raoul Moat. Apparently both Forte and Moat were pretty close and used to hang about with Wayne Bridge causing trouble.
Wayne Bridge glassed my cousins wife when she was at uni in Southampton, true story.

Anyway Forte is not good enough for City. He'd be a backwards step and is an elderly non scoring striker. If we wanted that we'd just play Beavon

At 31 he’s hardly elderly!

Anyway with your comment you’ve just wrote of our defence too as he breached it 3 times in 3 games and had a legitimate goal ruled out for off side too.

If that goal had of stood he would of had a ratio of a goal every 185 minutes from his league 2 campaign alone. However he ended it with a ratio of 1 in 207 mins. Better than the 8 in 32 games you must be basing your views on. His L2 match minutes equates to 18.5 full games.

Should we remain in L2 he’s worth a punt.

Too much a journeyman for my liking. Far too many clubs under his belt. Can only assume something to do with either attitude, fitness or lack of consistency is the issue. The bloke's clearly got skill but never seems to last anywhere for very long.

He’s had 5 permanent clubs hasn’t he?

12 in total including loans.

I have always been impressed with him when I have seen him, but wonder why he never stays around for very long at most clubs.

He had 4 years at Sheff Utd, but would have been just a kid then back there and then 4 years at Scunthorpe, where he only scored 9 goals in 98 games (makes Biamou seem like Thierry Henry).

Has had 8 loans from what I can see.

Even with loans he has played for 9 clubs - he was always going to be loaned out at Sheffield United where he started and then Southampton.

The fact he seems to return to the same club several times suggests the opposite of an attitude

Clearly missed the point but duck and dive the facts

Did you or did you not mention the fact he'd scored against Cov?

I'll accept your apology.

But anyway we need to look at better players than Forte,he's npt what we want if want to improve

I did, I also stated that you quoted him to be a elderly non scoring striker. I just pointed out that he breached our defence 3 times and could of been a 4th. County didn’t start him regularly preferring to using him from the bench. Like I said he minutes equates to 18.5 games this season

His career stats in L2 is 5446 minutes played over 84 appearances solely for Notts county giving a return of 24 goals at a rate of a goal every 227 mins. It’s a healthy return for a free striker who can also fit in MR preferred 4231.

I differ in my views to you that should we remain in L2 he would be a good addition to the squad. In L2 he’s a 10 goal a season man if played in a sensible amount of games and starts. That’s 10 welcome goals towards getting into L1.

Obviously win Monday Mansfield can have him

We have I'd rather keep the wages and have Mcnulty, Biamou, JCH and Ponti than have him. Also Tony Andreu is to come back as well.

Mansfield can have him any
