Personally I think there's something slightly amiss in his personna .
There were plenty of inches published in the CT supporting him from the Club through the dry spell.
So he came through something Mortimer alludes could happen in the future somewhere else, belief and Confidence came through but lacked early on.
That and a change to personel 'Nazon' in particular, would that happen elsewhere?
