Maddison sale (11 Viewers)

Back on planet Earth I think the fee with be around £17m-£18m. My guess is that we will earn an additional £2m-£3m from the sale.
I had the opportunity to speak to Mark Robbins about a month ago and asked him if he was keeping tabs on this situation (Maddison & Wilson) and wondered if he would have the funds to spend if this sale did materialize.
His answer was in typical football manager style "slightly guarded" - "I'm keeping a very close eye on it and am very aware that these sales can help us".
I did also ask if he was busy ringing around the Premiership managers recommending Madders but didn't get an answer other than a wry Clint Eastwood style smile.

This is as close as I can get to finding one of him smiling.

Reckon £18m won't be enough, could do with A Few Dollars More.
Uh uh. I know what you're thinking. "Will we get £3m or only £2m?" Well to tell you the truth in all this excitement I kinda lost track myself, but you've gotta ask yourself one question "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?

Hope we get a fistful of dollars regardless of who he signs for........it'd be great to see Madders in the PL, I bet he makes a sudden impact turning defenders inside out, every which way but loose.....

Just a couple of thoughts

Any deal for Maddison's sale might well be on staged payments so if he goes for a total of £20m it doesn't necessarily mean that we get a full cut of the fee immediately.

For SCMP it is the amounts physically received that count in the calculation so unless received it wont count this year

In L1 it is 60% of the total fee less expenses (eg agents) that counts isn't it?. Assuming the club is breaking even without the Maddison sale does that mean some of the fee could end up being drawn down to repay loans etc? (ie the remaining 40%)

View attachment 9985 Knowing our luck, Norwich will sell him cheap, and well only pick up a monkey.

If the staged payments include additional performance related bonuses, eg 50 caps winning a cup etc, do we also get a cut of those payments as well? Logic says that we should - so if he goes for 20m plus another 20m in potential addons then this could end up being very lucrative!

I think you've gone off topic a bit, this thread's about Clint Eastwood.
