That’s rubbish. A manager can do whatever he wants. He okay any formation he wants. According to you teams in the same league can’t they have to play some kind of entertaining football. No they don’t. If you assemble a squad which has power and strength and brute force you play in that style. You sound like a premier league manager of a big club who complains when a club goes to their ground to spoil the game but praises a team who plays 4-2-4 and gets stuffed.
Not going to argue with you.

Iceland have a very, very small pool of players to select from.

When I saw Wycombe I saw they had some pretty skilful players, but seemed to just ignore that route and opted for 'lump the ball up to Akinfenwa.' That was the one and only plan.

At the end of the day you can only work with what you've got and Iceland have so little to choose from.

We will have to agree to disagree. I don't think Iceland can play in any other manner without getting beaten pretty much every game.

Wycombe were the second highest scorers in league 2

And? What does that have to do with anything?

You lump the ball forward, it gets knocked down, you score goals. That's nowt to do with being attractive to watch and having a bit of style about the way you play.

When I saw Wycombe play Spurs in the cup they were brilliant. Played really, really well.

Ainsworth could get his team to play in a different manner. Against us he chose the very, very basic of tactics and it was awful to watch.

Iceland are a lot more restricted because they have such a small pool to pick from. The whole population of the country is only 300,000 something. Take out the women and children and those to old to play and your pool is even smaller.

As I say, we will go round it circles, so best leave it there.

No doubt though that you want the final word.

Go knock yourself out with it. :)

Do you want teams to play “entertaining” football - score less goals and get less points.

Hilarious

Well done.

That's exactly what I said. Word for word.

Well we scored less goals and achieved less points. Also there was 139 goals in their games - only in Luton games were there more - 1 more - the game involving them here was easily the most exciting last season in the league.

My wife flies Stanstead - Kishenev (Chisinau) when she visits her mum. She wasn't surprised when I told her what you said about all the foreign visitors going to Moscow. She reckons it's always like that because it's the cheapest route. I hate the drag from Dorset to Stanstead and back.

It seemed like rabbits in headlights. It’s bonkers that it’s that bad normally!

Hope you have a safe and enjoyable experience CJ. Saw a BBC video following Nigerian fans - seemed well received by the locals, but when they walked passed the lines of police, there wasn't the hint of a smile from the police, despite the fans singing and being jovial. Hope the police stay level headed with the English (and all other) fans.

Looking forward to this game. Could have been an early Mexico goal but Germans look in control

Fantastic break, one of them had to pay off. Very positive performance by Mexico so far, great game

Good goal. They look very dangerous on the counter, plenty of pace, just try and overplay it a bit too much at times.

They have always been my main worry.

Germany are surely going to get something out of this, Mexico not looking so fresh.

Great result for Mexico! Held off everything Germany could throw at them in that second half.

They thoroughly deserved that, were brilliant in the first half and really held on at the end

With games like this and the Spain / Portugal match, it looks like this could have the makings of a cracking World Cup! The way it's going, I might just have a sneaky bet on Tunisia tomorrow! :emoji_laughing:
