Madders yes; once he decided staying on his feet was better than going over. Quality.
AA excellent for us but unfortunately in 2018 he is a little small to make it at top level ...and he isn’t Messi.
Murphy had the ability but I was a little concerned his attitude and application might let him down.
Kent...so exciting. The one player in the last decade that could get me out my seat as soon as he got hold of the ball. Didn’t have the final ball when with us but I thought it would come. Now I’m not sure.

A lot of city fans couldn’t get their heads around when Murphy was here it was his first venture into first team football just a kid not a seasoned pro and was extremely nieve at times. But he could glide passed players as if they weren’t there, final ball not the best but to me an obvious outstanding talent in the making. As for Adam Armstrong is he still a Newcastle player ? imo he needs to be in the first team of a regular club championship or division one. If McNulty was to move on I’d be okay to have him here.

I always thought Kent was shite, never any end product, dosnt look like he’s improved much since then either.
Murphy looked very good, but burnt out and needed resting.
I’m surprised that Armstrong hasn’t made a name yet in the premiership, but time is on his side.
As for Maddison, he looked like a special talent, and was always destined for the premier league, and maybe international caps.

I don't think Armstrong is quick enough to be any more than a championship player.Kent might come good but doubt it. Murphy and Maddison were clearly technically the best players when they were all with us.

Maddison will get many England caps in my opinion, I believe he'll be one hell of a player at Leicester next season. Top 4 club will kick themselves for not getting him on the cheap, it today's transfer market.
Always thought it would be a few years before AA played for Newcastle in the prem and impressed. He's got time on his side and knows where the net is.
Murphy, he'll find his division again in the Championship by January transfer window.

I was thinking about the front line earlier (let's not forget Ruben who was also hot at that time)....funny how the CT in its "ex players" obsession will mention flash-in-the-pans like Ryan Kent as if him going out on loan elsewhere is somehow Coventry-related news in the year 2018.

Of all the good players we had that season the one I’d have back first and the one I thought would cement a place in the PL first was Stephens.

Murphy and Maddison no surprise. AA no surprise either. As for Kent.... one of the worst loans we've ever had. How many assists did he make? He never had a final ball and was never a team player so vital these days. So again, no surprise!
That was the puzzling thing about Tony Mowbray’s management here, where was the coaching ? we had Ryan Kent, pace to burn but open the gate and he’d disappear down the street still with the ball just no end product, then we had Murphy loads of skill but ponderous to the extreme and absolutely no idea of the off-side rule. Who was coaching them ?
im sure many Leicester & Norwich fans might have said the same about Harry Kane when he went on loan to their clubs.. these players come to lower league clubs to develop & add things to their game that they are not going to add by playing U23 games r even by come on for cameo appearances in the premier league. Murphy clearly had pace & decent feet, but lacked a bit of strength

In the same way as the team that got relegated had no balance, the team that failed to get promoted also had no balance. People might have got upset that players like Vincelot and O'Brien were shouting at some of the others when their application wasn't good enough, but the loss of the latter and that determination to fight and win (something we see with Doyle) was the real problem in the end.
Murphy - Unsurprisingly struggling in the Premier League. He will drop back down to the Championship again soon I would think. Brilliant on his day, but his day came around about one in ten. Application was a real problem with him and it was the same case at Norwich. I will never forget the 20 odd games he had with us here when he was literally the worst player on the pitch. It is very frustrating because he has so much ability.
Kent - The most talented of them all but was abysmal in the end and will struggle to make a top end career. Scored an average of about a goal a season since because he cannot shoot. He also cannot cross or pass the ball. Skin 3 players, no problem. 5 yard pass, kicks it out for a throw in. Every single time. It was annoying watching him as other fans would stand up like clapping seals when he got the ball, only to be disappointed 10 seconds later.
Armstrong - A player who should be doing better than the top of League 1. Went to clubs who already had tons of strikers and struggled to make an impact. Him or his advisers made some poor choices really. If he goes back to Blackburn I would expect a good season in the Championship this time around. It is make or break really. Had a great tournament for the England under 21's so hopefully he can use that as a springboard.
Maddison - The best all rounder out of these players. I thought he would do well, but maybe not this well. Has that bit of class that you see in players like Joe Cole. As he gets stronger he might get into the Leicester first team at times this season. Would be interesting if he ends up playing for England one day.

He was 18 very quick scored a great goal and we struggles when he went. I think he was very raw but definitely a player in there for me.

Maddison obvious quality and will surely be at that level for the next 10 years.
Kent is top drawer, and whilst he lacked end product years ago, you could see he had it. Klopp knows it as well.

I didn’t say I wouldn’t have any of the others back. I just think of all good assets we had at our disposal that season he was the one that showed the most promise and talent. For the record the player I thought at that time was our most important was Vincelot.
