I reckon it would give us a chance to ketchup with the favourites in our league and drive thru to the playoffs ! Mind you with SISU we always have to be wary of that first window !

Ipswich turned down 8.5 million for McGoldrick four years ago, all the Ipswich fansI know still
reckon he’s there best player by a mile when fit, but that’s his problem he’s Injury prone.
But his quality is unquestionable ‘and sadly he’s way out of our league.

Looking at McGoldrick's record he is a 10 to 12 goal striker at best in the Championship. Add his injury history and I doubt there will be any clubs offering him anything like the sort of pay he was on at Ipswich.

Looking at his record, he's not managed a full season since his loan here, and highest is 31 games, so for that reason I'd probably give him a miss. He'd be on top money in league one, and we can't afford to waste wages on the treatment table.

31 games would prob be enugh to shape our season

i wopuld imagne we would only do a deal that was good for the club too so if it happens i am sure robins will not risk club finances

Shouldn't go back really. It was great at the time now we should move on. This is all a bit too Eric Blackish for me.

Why the clamour to sign this bloke ? Now 30, injury prone and although did okay in his loan stint here doesn’t mean he’ll do it again. If we are in the market for a striker think we can do a lot better than him
He did "okay"?!?! Is that all? Okay? Bloody he'll mate. Possibly my fave striker I've seen play for us (in terms of excitement) with 16 goals in about 20 odd appearances but he was just okay in your standards!? Are you holding out expecting us to swoop for Mo Salah instead?

Doubt you'd get over the hurdles of a) him wanting to come here and b) us being able to afford him.

That said we all know goalscorers are hard to come by so if it is a possibility then il'll trust Robins judgement.

wouldn't touch him, good footballer but never the most mobile guy and as hes getting a lot of muscle injuries can't justify risk on big wages, Ipswich got rid for a reason

Too risky. Can't afford to waste any of the budget. Prefer up and coming or injury free established. Need to be hungry, not looking for a final pay day.

Apparently his family have moved back to the Midlands. It could be to re-join Notts Forest, or dare I say it could be us.

I doubt Forest would go in for him....they look like they're going for it in the Championship & spending millions on Portugese goodies...don't think McGoal-drick would fit their mould somehow

He's not the kind of striker we need to sign. McNulty will be our main goal scorer so I doubt we'd have McG and McNulty up front. If we're planning on playing 4-4-2, he needs a solid 10-15 goal a season strike partner. Can JCH or Biamou provide that? Perhaps maybe 17-20 goals between the two would do.

We need to have a balanced side, I doubt McGoldrick and McNulty would give the team that.
