Maradona’s been rushed to hospital. Sounds like a heart attack.

His mates don’t help. It seems like they’re encouraging him. Bit like Best. Spoke to a guy who said he’d bought him a drink once. Hardly something you can talk about with great pride. If you did that you’re part of the problem.

What a pity it would be if his last contribution to the world was flipping off Nigeria fans with the world's cameras on him.

Cannot stand the bloke. He's obviously a complete nutter too.

I hope he's with us long enough for us to beat them in the final and have one of our players gesture the hand of God to him as a closing celebration.

Saw he's been managing a team in the Belarussian premier league. How random...

I watched the game at the Moscow fan fest on obviously a Russian feed. It kept zooming in on Maradonna. When they scored the first he was punching the air and had the exact same face on him like when he ran to the camera in 94. The next day he failed the drugs test. It zoomed in on just after 1\2 time an he was asleep, then again at the end where he was flicking the double middle finger at the fans below. Drugged up fat cheating c**t.

Anyway, this isn't the thread for this. Can we just have one place where everything is OK. We can all love England and hate Neymar together.

You're obsessed by the idea that you're not allowed to say things. What you're after is the right to say something without being criticised or challenged which is bollocks.
so true. poor guy prob thinks hes smart and everyone else deluded or brainwashed too lol
So I criticise him on the pitch, that's not allowed.

I criticise him off the pitch and 'I got done lol'.

How old are you? Genuine question.

you can criticise him on pitch all u want. what u did was say he was a bad person off the pitch but now cannot say why because it will be admitting your views come from tabloids

so dont say we are not allowed to mention sterling because that is a lie

I think you'll find that on right wing websites the winky thing is always donning a Hitler moustache.

Helps us to tell each other apart.
And on left wing websites there is no winky thing because they have all gone on strike.

Have you not seen the other threads?

I say something about Sterling being a bit of a bellend. - 'Yeah but he had a hard upbringing'.
I say something about Sterling being a let down on the pitch. - 'Yeah but he had a hard upbringing'.

In the same way some people would blindly defend Lee Burge, the same thing has happened with Sterling

All I've done is point out that it has somehow become frowned upon to criticise him. That isn't incorrect.

I mention Sterling and your fucking alarm goes off!

I have stated the reasons I think he has done things which have made him a bad role model, these things are not lies. Yet every time I mention him on the pitch, people start saying it is a witch hunt. It isn't.

Can you honestly say he hasn't been a disappointment so far this tournament? I care about his performances on the pitch more than anything else, and at the moment they are not good enough.

You could say it's 'in vogue' to criticise him which is why there is an equal and opposite reaction.

FWIW I think he's generally been poor for England and should do better, it's obvious he can do it from his season at Man City, but some of the criticism he gets is insane. Going on about a tattoo that is nearly a year old just before a world cup. He's obviously Southgate's first choice and part of a team that's having a very good world cup (so far) so we should be encouraging him. Once he gets that goal things might really turn around for him.

I like sterling. He had a decent game against Panama (2 assists and best pass completion of the attacking 6). Lacks confidence for England and is playing in a totally unfamiliar role which doesn't suit him. Don't care what he does off the pitch but his season for man city merited his starting place.
