Either to replace Bayliss if he moves or to allow him to play centrally if he stays.

Bayliss is a player with a lot of talent and potential. But, I don’t think he’s ready for the Championship physically yet. Also, a lot of us Cov fans need to calm down about his ability, the same people calling L2 a ‘terrible league’ are then saying Bayliss will become an England international! Scouts from the Championship and above will surely note that Bayliss is unproven above L2. If they’re shrewd, will probably want to see how he gets at L1 level before committing big money on on him.
The best career move for Bayliss is to stay with us. It’s the perfect conditions for
his development. Moving to Derby, for example, represents an unnecessary risk as he could find himself playing U23s football if he has any bad games. If he has a stormer this season and we miss out on promotion narrowly, then he should go because he’s clearly ready to take on a new challenge!
