Russia defending so deep - playing as if they are level or 1 up?!

Stupid in the extreme. Would have been a penalty if it hadn't have been a goal.
Just don’t get the wrestling the player down, England’s has three (some given some not) but I have never this anywhere is league football?

Amazed that Russian fans - a goal down with an hour left are doing the Mexican wave. Not sure if that shows they know they have no chance and determined to enjoy the occasion - fair play. Can't imagine that would happen at Wembley if we were 1 down in that situation!

A lot of day trippers, probably all locals

They really need to start clamping down on all this gamesmanship at penalties.

Players trying to put the penalty taker off, walking in and out the area, walking up to the ball on the spot and then away again.

Need to start giving out yellows. Once that ball is on the spot no player other than the taker and the keeper should be inside the box and the goalie should not be allowed to come from his line and appraoch the penalty taker at all.

Very slow second half!
It is.

I think if Spain score again first now it will be all over. While it stays at 1-1 Russia have a chance of nicking it.

You have to think that if Russia score, Spain can still come back from that, but I can't see the Russians doing so again if they go behind once more.

One more goal in this I reckon but as you say if Spain get it, it’s all over

I have to say I do like this ref. Takes no nonsense and seems to be able to maintain control at all times.

And when did I say we would be going out? All I said was Japan was the easier game and we could well find Colombia tough.

10 out 10 though for some crazily wild exaggeration.

It's not, you put several moaning post out saying you think we've shot ourselves in the foot.

I'm not blaming you, loads of people I know were the same. In fact, half the country were short sighting at the view of Japan rather than looking at the bigger picture. I am noticing a change in attitude now though, especially as we get closer to the game. More people are starting to get the negative out of their system now having seen the strength of France, who we will now avoid too.

If we beat Colombia I think we would have a real chance at getting to the final. Spain are looking shakey too.

I think you will find I have always maintained that we have a decent chance of winning the whole thing.

And at no point have I ever said we would be going out. Never, ever said it.

The Spanish way of playing is very boring and like long ball football is finished having watched them I would be stunned if they won this tournament, Iniesta is the perfect player to bring on and keep the ball but no sure he has the legs anymore to get very far forward

I think the point otis was making is the automatic assumption that we will face Sweden or Switzerland and that we shouldn’t assume the Columbia will be an easy pass. One game at a time

They don't half pee about with it, especially when they are in front.

They should do a City and attack, attack, attack and go to kill the game off!

Ironically if we went out to Brazil, our tournament would be a relative success but a failure if we lose to Sweden

Yeah, exactly.

I wasn't moaning, I was just advocating taking one game at a time and on paper, Japan look the easier opposition.

I see on the SBT Bookies no-one at all had the draw.

A few pennies lost there for everyone.

Imagine how frustrating, making 50 runs, knowing that they will only try and pass it twice to you. Ironically, Iniesta is the one player who might have (but wasn't on the pitch for most of that time)

Am I the only person that didn’t know about the fourth sub rule? Apparently it’s been in the FA Cup for the last two seasons as well.

If the Russians win this, it would give England an even bigger opportunity to make the final (yes I know I'm jumping a few guns!)
Would be nice to see Spain go out. They are their own worst enemies at times, thinking they can just stroll on through.

Would love it if the Russians went through.

Putin might even stop poisoning people!
