Yawn yawn yawn
He’s averaged about a goal every 6 or 7 games since the December he played for us
The half a season of success was the exception - clearly not the norm
How can one half be exception and one half be norm? That’s not how half’s work. If it was 80/20 then you can use the words exception and norm.
He's 25No loyalty in football. Face it any manager will dump a player if they fail to deliver.
Can't blame the lad, he has only 3 or 4 years left in which to earn the sort of money being talked about, unless he can kick on and make it higher, which he won't do by remaining at a League One outfit. He has to take the chance and Robins has to replace him.
Because I’m including all the games his played in after leaving
If McNulty scores 20 goals next season playing for Reading he'll be playing in the Premier League the year after. If McNulty scores 20 goals next season playing for us he'll be playing in the Championship the year after.
I'm not saying I think he'll do either of those things. But in his position, who wouldn't want to potentially fast-track their career? Especially as he's 25 going on 26. If he was 19 there'd be much more of an argument for staying put for another season.

With the right team i think he can, reading were scrapping for survival some might be the ‘main man’. End of the day we cannot match his wages so all we can hope for is to turn a decent profitLet him go if he wants it, we will be ships that pass in the night, us on the up, them on the way down. I will be interested to see if he can cut it in the championship, I have my doubts. It's all about who we replace him with, get that right and McNulty will be old news before the season is a month old.
Robins didnt dump McNulty when he failed deliver for pretty much the first half of the season for us...
One thing you can say for Robins, in all his time with us, he's managed to find us a goalscoring centre forward.
McGoldrick and Clarke not count?Well - two - and one is off to reading
Gray?Apparently not sure how true this is but he has gone.\
So what were his other options? Yeah, that's right he didn't really have any.
If we don't hear anything today - suppose we'll learn more if he is/isn't in the squad tomorrow, no point taking him if he's leaving...
I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but he is not good enough for the championship.
....yet.I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but he is not good enough for the championship.
Exactly G he owed us this season as a loyalty payment to MR and us fansIt’s true and I always see the players side on this. However, the reverse also is true in that he was never going to be a player who’d attract it without the opportunity last season and a manager who stuck with him through a poor early season
Not sure we'll be flying to Sutton?! Unless we're really going all out now we're back in the big time!I hope we charge him for the ticket. The cancelation fee if flying with Ryanair will be the signing fee !

just pointing out a fact. and managers always have options, we had other strikers sitting around doing nothing for a start, loads of people were calling for pontecilli to start in his place... I think you are wrong & Robins stood strong on sticking with him , not giving in to the calls to drop him
He's on 15k a week we couldn't afford thatI mean is it worth making a cheeky bid for Armstrong? His stock can’t be high given that he’s not proven above league one.
He had an alright half season at Blackburn but hasn’t really hit the heights he did with us? Do Newcastle still highly rate him at 21?
McGoldrick and Clarke not count?
Readings first ream wage bill is £28 million. It’s 7 times our likely wage bill next season
