Poor defending there. :(

Our front play has badly let us down.

Just saying that, doesn’t seem right in a knock out tournament does it?
Nope.

I have always believed that it should be like the cup, straight knock out, but then that is not really fair on the traveling fans.

It's a nothing game though this, nobody gives a shit who finishes 3rd in the world cup. It's all about getting that star on your shirt

Better second half than first, but we were just far too loose with the ball. Give the ball away to a team who love to hit you on the counter, you're asking for trouble time and time again. Add to that we just didn't take the chances that we had come our way. Think Belgium are closer to winning a world cup than us.

Kane HAS to be carrying an injury. Just not the same player.

Been a good WC for us in many ways, but a frustrating one too.

Kane disappointing (though I don't blame him at all and honestly think something is not quite right with him)

Sterling frustrating as ever. Either doesn't shoot or takes an extra touch rather than play a team mate in.

Jones not good enough.

Young not good enough.

Pickford has had a very good tournament.

Maguire has been excellent and so too Trippier and it has been lovely trying to play our way out of defence.

Loftus-Cheek looks to be a big player in England's future.

Rashford I believe will be too, but he's still raw.

Unfortunately there have been too many players under par in Russia.

There are seeds of hope though.

Yep. One place closer.

not that bothered by 3rd or 4th.
semis was way better than most thought a month ago.
a few obvious flaws in the side but plenty to work with.
do need better passing up front. Pointless having Kane if we can't get him the ball. Not going to get the space some of these current mids like running behind defences
Hopefully will see some of the age group players break into Pl before next tournaments.
I apologize to Southgate (used to know him) thought he was an awful pick when he got the job.

I'm looking forward to the emergence of the next batch of youngsters making an impact. Barring injury Foden is going to be huge for England, together with Sessegnon. Who knows, even Maddison has a shout of being the creative midfielder that England so clearly lack. World cup 2026, midfield of Bayliss, Maddison & Foden !

If I am still alive then.

If not, screw them, I'm not interested.

Did you miss an R out there by any chance?

Shame for Belgium.

Been the best side for me in this compeition and the most entertaining too.

They deserve to be in the final, rather than the sulky, feigning French.

This is where we disagree, I picked out France to win before it started, They have a great squad and several.match winners in their team. I think they will have too much for Croatia and will deserve the 2nd star.
Cue Croatia to play the game of their lives

Ah, but my criteria is also accounting for fairness and playing the game without trying to cheat.

Belgium I found to be a more honest side and they played some great football.

I didn't like the French way of trying to bend the rules and dive and feign injury.

I know Belgium were really annoyed with them on Tuesday night.

Well I hope we don't see too much of that side of the game tomorrow.

Was thinking that same.

He looks lethargic and not at all sharp.

Bet we find out afterwards that he has been carrying an injury.
Has he been anywhere near Salisbury lately?

We did get some gifts didn't we.
It's ironic that they wrestled Kane to the ground because they were so afraid he was such a great striker and yet it turns out all he was good at was penalties.

Belgium leave the tournament with great credit (with the possible exception of Lukaku, who I do not have a very high opinion of).

The successes in our team for me were Pickford, Trippier, Stones, Maguire. That's it.
