Bad Result? (2 Viewers)

Draw is a bit of a crap result. Puts a lot of emphasis on Saturday. And I can't see us beating Birmingham.

How did Cody play when he came on? Could he yet be the answer to our goal scoring problems?

To be honest better to have a point than none at all.

Cody scoring could do the world of good for his confidence now.

Its the games in hand that could come back to bite us, donny have two, forest have one as do bristol city i think. Not sure about millwall. Tough game coming up saturday. Brum will be well up for it and it will be a battle. Not convinced we have the fight for it. (this is footy related by the way and not that greenstreet thread)

Just got back. Bloody cold. Well pleased for Cody. He's been given a hard time so I'm glad he netted. I thought we looked well worthy for the draw. Deegan, Cameron and Clarke were pretty poor, I think. Baker was great, my MOTM.

Good result from a poor performance IMO. Some of our play was so frustrating and it's another missed opportunity for taking more points. We didn't want to test Speroni after our first early chance, wanted to pass it into the net, but no one wanted the final touch. Definately have a lot of work to do if we are to get anything from Saturday.

Cody surprised me if I'm honest. Put himself about quite a lot. I was disappointed Platt was taken off, believing it to be the wrong decision by AT but as he went straight down the tunnel, that would suggest he was injured / struggling so I'll let AT off for that one, and pass it off as a genious tactical decision :)

I thought in general Clarke was very good, had one of the toughest opponents in the league against Zaha. Anyone remember Zaha tearing Christie apart for both goals at Selhurst Park this season?
Put in a few great crosses and a few iffy ones, I would agree on Cameron he made a few mistakes but in his defence I would blame the whole defence for a lack of communication a few times resulting in an error with Cameron usually being the fall guy.
Pleased for Cody too, looked lively when he came on an was an excellent finish.

Must just be me with Clarke then. It's also a bit dodgy that he has cramp every game. He's only about twelve.

Clarke was excellent defensively. Kept Zaha pretty quiet. His passing and crossing was pretty dreadful though.

Glad we managed a point considering how crap we were.
Surely we can't be that bad again Saturday.

The result in isolation would be ok but of course as we get no points away it has to be classed as points dropped. This is always the problem. We cannot win all marches at home it is not viable.

On fact if Doncaster had not won it would have been a bad night all round.

I expect the opposition to be a lot better that's for sure.

The main problem i have about tonight is we let ourselves down in the first 5 mins by not starting on the front foot!

Id rather draw than loose, just puts more pressure on the remaining 5 home games, it also means we need a win away!!!

There is absolutely no doubt that bearing in mind the other results tonight, for us it was a bad result.

I would have taken a draw before the game. I wasn't expectng Bristol to win against Leshtur though or Donny to beat Forest though.

It mostly went a bit tits up for us tonight. The fat lady is starting to clear her thraot.

Didn't think we were that bad, can we expect much more from the players we have? We have a very average team an palace ain't no mugs, thought Murphy made some good saves Clarke and Keogh played well as did cody when he came on. Palace arnt a bad side will be hard to get anything sat but would love 3 points

Was also going to be a tough game tonight a gainst a very confident outfit who have had a successful season with an inspirational novice manager, add into that the twelfth player in black ,Did he go to school in donny or Bristol? My abuse of him brought on a massive blood pressure headache ,god knows what my grandson thinks of me or what words he's learned tonight. So in my view i'd have taken this result before the match and think its a good one .totally bossed the second half ,good substitutions and positive performances from the fullbacks ,wingers and Norwood ,murphy and the bonus of a goal for Cody.

Sorry thought we were pretty awfull. So did everybody around me. Lack of drive & leadership on the pitch. No one wants to take responsibility & put a foot on the ball, they want rid of it at the 1st oppportunity. Most of our crosses would'nt scare Count Dracula. Granted tonight the Ref was at an all time low standard but thats no excuse for performing like that in a must win game.

It's just not good enough. I hated the fact Thorn yet again tampered with the defense. Adding Cameron was OK but to then drop Christie, Cranie moved out left back and Clarke switching to right back? Jeez....did you expect we would not be all over the place for the first 10 minutes? That was proved after only 4 minutes! Can't believe he made all those changes in defense. That for me is where I have to criticise his management, I'm sorry.

An experienced club captain on the bench? Who normally shields the defense well. Norwood who to be fair is young, still finding his measure and on loan. Thomas not better option than him?

After 4 minutes we handed them the initiative and instead of flying at them from the off we didn't even get at um' after 1 nil down.

Palace played high up the pitch at times and it took too long before bringing Cody on.

As it happen Forest get pulled back in, Donny improve but remain behind us, Pompey get worse and yes only Bristol really gain tonight in the battle. One point was important.

Think Brum may be beatable. Forest won there, they were far from convincing at the week end and Chelsea won there tonight.
Can't see us playing any worse and likely we will raise our game for Brum so I'm not so sure we can't claim a victory and all change again at the bottom. Certainly can't afford to lose.

Will we change the defense yet again?

As i stated on a previous post on another thread,it takes us fifteen minutes to get in the game and last nite was the same,I was greatful that zaha had a quiet game for palace cos in hindsight he could've destroyed Cameron had he played more central,I didn't understand the starting 11 he left better players on the bench,I think he plays norwood so fergie will phone him and give him a patronising pat on the back

Of course it's better to have a point but CP were terrible. That definatley two poInts lost IMO. We had attack after attack looked sharp with lots of wingplay which was good to see.

In defence of CP though they had big lumps in centre back positions and we found it difficult to break them down.

The ref was the biggest c-unit ever to grace our pitch closely followed by the linesman, total disgrace IMO. Happy with the pen it's just the way it all happens and how his control throughout the game was shocking.

So we keep going and the task just gets harder.

Big time he been our player of the season... Like I said yesterday. Connor not happy, he's been playing well in training but Thorn has only took 2 training sessions in past 2 weeks.

Agreed easily the best of the young academy guys. If that is true it's a joke.
