I've just cleaned a gutter for a customer, cleaned it out, nice little job.
The Polish bloke paid me and as I walked off he called me back, I thought I bet he will pay me extra as he was pleased it was done ?
But no he said did I know how to stop a cat shitting on his lawn, I said shoot it !

I do know how to stop cats shitting/peeing on a garden or lawn. Just fill up plastic bottles with water, place them apart about the garden,or where the cat goes, and for some reason they don't like them. Strange but true, but as he never gave me a few extra bob after sweating up the ladder, he can suffer feline angst !

Heading down to Woolacombe on Saturday for a week. Hope this continues. When it's warm there's no better place.

I remember the turning the water off for part of each day in 76. When I think back it probably didn't save any water because everyone would fill their bath and other containers.
When it did eventually rain everyone went and stood outside in it.

Played football at lunchtime. Big indoor hall with no outside ventilation, I can see now why they changed the Qatar World Cup to winter.

Having to peel myself off my sofa in the evening is not pleasant.

Lovely part of the world, used to go to Mortehoe when I was a kid. Went back there last August, typically it pissed it down.

That’s where we’re staying. Go there every August. Enjoy the run up the hill every evening from the beach. Chippy is at the top!

We used to stay in a cottage at the top of the hill opposite the car park of the first pub you get to at the top of the hill.

It was surreal going back but loved it just as much, a hotel/pub in the centre opposite the post office where my dad used to take me to play pool and sneak me a few half pints had been turned into a posh cafe, not surprising as I was probably about 10 haha

Am I in the minority actually enjoying the extreme seasons this year? Give me a proper winter involving some snow and a proper summer with a heatwave every time.

I wouldn't go as far as saying they're extreme seasons. Last year in August I was in a coat on a beach in Devon and fucking freezing.

This year I've swam in the sea in Hove most days since June, that's what a summer should be about.

I agree if we were guaranteed a hot summer and snowy winters every year but if it was like that we'd change our houses so that they can cope with it properly. I do like hot weather but this lack of sleep is killing me.

I mean 'relatively extreme' in regards to what we're used to on this mild island.

Try being on night shifts and sleeping in the day when it’s 30c and you can’t have the window open as it’s too noisy outside. Go on. Try it.

Great place isn't it. Think I know the cottage you mean.

I dont mind it so much if theres a breeze. When it looks like you have had a shower just by sitting still you know its not good.

I used to live and work here for a while and would start sweating from April. It doesn't get below 26c at night during the summer, which is great fun.

Coming towards the end of a two week job in Athens, been 35c + just about everyday, couple of times it’s got to 43c! Great if your lazing by a pool, crap if you’re up a scissor lift bolting shit together.
Absolutely lashed it down today around 1ish, thunder lightning & rain you wouldn’t believe went from 42c down to 18c inside 30mins. Then stopped & out came the sun, bone dry again by 5pm

Finish at 6am for 1 weeks holiday

I’m debating to either go for a run or have a fry up and a couple of beers as soon as I get home
