not being funny but with last nights performance how can anyone have anything positive to say about the club. It was one of the worst games i have seen in a long while (inc sunday league), we have zero confidence and have not got a clue in the midfield. We made Palace look great last night and they certainly were not. This is why people are posting we are going down because we certainly are!
Really? Baker was going past people and getting some great crosses in, second half Sheffers was so pissed off but was flying past their right back with ease and our link up play varied between lovely and atrocious. Gotta say I enjoyed us on the attack, tho defensively we were a bit crap. One of the worst games you've seen? If thats anything other than a big exaggeration then I envy you...

There were positives for me.

Crossing was better.
Norwood controlled the midfield.
McDonald showed what he is capable of at last.
We didn't lose against a strong Palace team.

you have to be realistic, we are going down, the main problem is the players level of ability, it isnt that they are simply shit, its just they havent reached the same levels as those above, you look at bristol city and doncaster and in all honesty they have miles better chance of staying up because they are capable of scoring .. bristol last night capable of 3 goals .against a team that battered us.. donny have a good team and i am betting they will stay up

the half glass full mentality is great but the problem is we are now relying on other teams results rather than our own. the positive thought are nice guys but the reality is we just arent good enough for this league. not being negative here, just realistic

Feel the same.

Think the only way we can stay up is if other teams fail. Don't believe it will be in our own hands.

It's all down to facts. The thing Otis wants us to face. OK, the fact is we are not down. That is the only fact that matters. Until that is no longer the case I will keep believing we can get out of it. A lot have given up already. Not me.

Facts from my post:

'many here were saying the Palace game was a must win.'

'At least 2-3 results went against us last night. '

' We felt before the game that we could well be out of the bottom 3 come the end of the night. We're still there.'

'That's yet another game gone.'

' We still have to play on our travels, Hull, Cardiff, Burnley and Southampton.'

'Our away form is nothing short of a disgrace.' (disgrace may be opinion, but you can't argue the fact that it is dreadful)

'In summary we are still where we were, only another more couple of games have gone by and our away form if anything is getting worse. (the last 3 away games have been 2-0, 2-0, 2-0).'

'A few on here were pointing to how much a superior team of players Leshtur had to us on Saturday and how did we expect anything other than defeat. Yet Bristol City beat them. '

'Bristol's last sequence of results had been 0-3, 1-3, 2-2, 0-3, 0-3 prior to Leshtur.'

'Our performance against Leshtur was unacceptable. As was our performance against Forest. As was so many of our away performances.'

Sure, you can put a positive spin on the fact that we are still just 3 points from saftety, 'but we have been in the bottom 3 since October, have the worst away record in the entire football league, give silly goals away and don't score enough.'

Enough facts for you from my OP?

'Our performance against Leshtur was unacceptable' is not a fact. Otherwise, everything else you've said is more or less correct. It's worth noting that Brizzle had Leicester at home-we had them away; by most peoples' reckoning, away games are a write off anyway so we wouldn't expect anything regardless. I see relegation as probable, which is essentially all you're saying, and it's difficult not to agree with that at this point in time.

You just don't get it, Torchy. It is not a case of giving up. No-one has given up. It's just an acceptance. Doesn't stop people like me going up every week and continuing to support the team.

It is not giving up. I am just a fan, not a City player, not a CCFC manger and not an employee of Coventry City Football Club. If I was, then yes, you could label me as having given up. I have not given up.

I can hope until the cows come home. That has nothing to do with reflecting on the situation and making a reasoned conclusion from the information (squad, manager, fixtures, away form, league position, kids, no money etc.) we have at our disposal.

everything is great, there is no chance of relegation because AT and the players give 100%,but if we do go down(which we wont)its sisu who are the naughty baddies and everyone else will get a free pass. if you dont agree with this you are not a real cov fan.

So I'm going to try and kill all the arguments here by summing up everyone's posts into a nice 1 that works:
We are not yet down, however looking at the facts - for example our current position and form - it is very likely we will.
Nobody wants us to go down and people must accept that Thorn, the players, SISU and probably us as fans will haved played a part in whatever the outcome, however large or small that part may be.
Regardless of whether we think we will be relegated or not, we all want Coventry City to survive and be better for it.

That sound about right?

Course they are  as much as anyone here is entitled to there opinion.

Besides isn't the whole point of the forum to debate an discuss opinions, backing your own whilst you try to find flaws/question others? No one is telling people to fuck off the forum or trying to tell people what they can or can't write.

If you post an opinion which other disagree with don't be surprised to have people question it and pick holes in it, just because people disagree with an opinion doesn't mean they are saying you are not allowed that opinion. No point in hiding behind the line I can have an opinion when people question it.

This again?

There's nothing shameful about fans making well-made arguments on a discussion board, regardless of their viewpoint. What I would suggest is shameful is slamming fellow fans and calling for censorship just because you cannot bear their opinion (aka denial).

This is a discussion board about what's happening at Coventry City, not a self-help seminar.
