It’s £5 to get in tonight btw (under 18s free) usually it’s free for the youth games at Alan Higgs Centre but because the game was originally supposed to be at Sphinx Drive there’s a charge tonight

Ah is the money going to Sphinx then with it being their home game?

Will be interesting to see if any trialists play tonight.

That's correct Nick. The recent dry spell gave Coventry City concerns over the pitch at Sphinx Drive although in my opinion the pitch was in decent condition. However, we agreed to switch the game to the Higgs at Coventry City's request. Clearly that would have a financial implication on Sphinx (not just gate money but bar sales etc) but Coventry City have been extremely helpful in at least enabling an admission charge to be in place tonight thanks to the use of CCFC stewards. Once the usual match expenses (officials, stewards to take admission money etc) have been paid then Sphinx will benefit from the balance of the gate receipts. Income like this is critical for a Non-League club like Sphinx so hopefully there will be a decent turnout tonight. Sphinx have some decent talent themselves so hopefully people will be surprised at the standard at our level and pay Sphinx a visit during the season.

Out of interest how is it going to work given that the Higgs has a public footpath?

Anyone know if that lad from Herne Bay is playing Sam McCallum. Everyone from this neck of the woods is raving about him.

Some players playing catch up and Andreu is obviously a key component this season. Can't believe some fans don't have the vision to see how he will fit in.
He was excellent, and looked up to speed. Always trying to make something happen. Him and Bayliss should be a real threat.
