Posh to let Sinclair leave

Peterborough United are to allow striker Emile Sinclair to leave the club.
Last Updated: 06/03/12 at 15:07

The Posh signed Sinclair last August from Macclesfield Town, and he penned a three-year deal.

The 24-year-old has gone on to score seven goals in 18 starts for the club, but in recent times has been edged out of the first team.

Now following the signing of Tyrone Barnett from Crawley, manager Darren Ferguson has a wealth of options in the striking department.
Now the club are ready to sanction Sinclair's move away from the club on loan, with a view to a permanent deal.

And Sky Sports understands that Blackpool and Coventry are leading the chase, although there are a number of clubs in the Championship and League One who are keen.

Sheffield Wednesday and Notts County are also believed to be interested in Sinclair, who could depart London Road by the end of the week.

Not bad considering we have an embargo. 7 goals in 18 games would make him an absolute Sky Blues legend here.

Totally agree Otis. How the hell can we "lead the chase" with an embargo and no money anyway? Even if he's on a "free", we still have his wage demand to settle.

Wow 7 goals in 18 starts.....that's a bit better than

Platt 3 in 16 starts
Nimely 1 in 8 starts
McDonald 1 in 8 starts.

If that's correct it's impressive. Also from league two and replaced by another striker league two.

No, no, no. This cannot be true and surely the work of a parallel universe.

Peterborough can't have signed Barnett with a view to a £1.2m move, as their budgets are smaller than ours, as 'kduffy' told me so.

And we wouldn't be after one of Posh's cast offs, as their squad is no better than ours and they're only above us because Thorn's a portly baffoon. Again, I've been told so.

As such, there can be no truth in this thread

Coventry City RSS Feed City can't take Sinclair on loan

The transfer embargo forced on Coventry City after they failed to file their accounts has meant that the Sky Blues are unable to persue their interest in Peterborough United's Emile Sinclair.

It is understood that a loan deal was possibly in the offing but City, who have been linked along with Doncaster and Sheffield Wednesday for the former Macclesfield player who has scored eight goals in twenty four games, now cannot sign any players until the embargo is lifted.

Sinclair is a Sky Blues target

Peterborough chairman Barry Fry has revealed that Championship rivals Coventry have enquired about striker Emile Sinclair.

Thursday 8th March.

Right, so did we enquire before the embargo? Have we enquired during the embargo with the hope of getting him once we are out of the embargo? Are we now out of the embargo and have just now enquired?

Yours sincerely,

Confused of Keresley.

Yeah, I'd quite like to know as well? I really don't get why we'd even be publicising an interest if we can't put any sort of bid in?
