Yeah, 3 minutes ago. :)

It looks nice. Very nice. Unfortunately, its gonna take more than glossy magazines to help this club.

I like the Welcome message on Page 5:

We Are Strong. We Are Proud. We are Coventry. Together, We Will Rise Again.

Been waiting for our ascension back to the Premier League for over a decade now. If anything we'll be attempting to 'rise again' back to the Championship next season.

Yes, my thoughts is that the PR men are in overdrive to counteract all the goings on this season.

Being the cynic that I am, iIt reads as one big guilt trip because they know sales won't be so good for 12/13.

Page 25 for instance;
all income generated by CCFC retail goes straight into the club and helps fund the First Team and the Academy

Yeah, just got mine. Apparently, if I buy a season ticket this week, I get an exclusive early bird scarf, badge, and a £20 gift voucher for CCFC! Oh, how they go the extra yard....

What else do you want them to do - foot massage, blow job, complimentary sandwich?

I read it that way too but further on when it gives you a diary like page, it seems you only get one of the three, each having their own deadline. First is the voucher, then the scarf, then the pin. Well that's how I read it anyway.

It is an impressive brochure, but I read somewhere it was made in house so I doubt it would cost as much as I initially thought. It was always going to be award winning though as it was by the bloke who creates our award winning match day programme :)

Printed in house? Wow they must have some great print works set up which i doubt very much!

To develop this and bring to print would cost at least £1.50 each to produce....and that would be a highly discounted rate at that. Assuming they have posted these to some 15 thousand fans which would include 10k season ticket holders and people who have registered online when buying a ticket (as even my son got one and he only ever bought a ticket online once!) - then even at that low rate without factoring in labour it has cost the club a small fortune to do. As much as £50k with the postage.

How the hell is that justifiable and possible?

After listening to those numpties on the radio yesterday why am I not surprised by this?

I got 2 through! I have ordered with 2 email addresses so have 2 accounts with them! Should have really done 1 per house!

Does a glossy magazine really warrant this kind of analysis?FFS, sometimes it seems no matter what the club do, some people just can't wait to find a flaw and lay into them, normally entirely without fact as well.

Given that:

  1. It cost money to print which
  2. We don't have a lot of which is
  3. One of the reasons were on the verge of playing 3rd tier football, then
  4. Yeah.
If we were mid-table, the response to the mag would be very different.

Oh right, forgot a magazine had something to do with us being at the bottom.

Do you really think we'd print it if we couldn't afford it? clearly there is a budget to do this.

As I said, lots of speculation about stuff that no-one really knows the details of.

Just seems that out of everything that's happening at the club, owning about a magazine which is pretty good is a bit pointless

Im guessing your picture appears on pages 54/55

But with a £20 voucher and a scarf (they can keep the badge) I think that makes mine cheaper than last year assuming we are in the championshiip.

I skimmed through it & thought it was very professionally done, but it was never going to influence me in any way, I'm not renewing next season.

I've kept it for the moment, it has a lot of details I may want to refer back to.

£50 grand? to entice people to renew when we don't know what league we are in?

I see we can't afford a fitness coach though...

Priorities...something this club knows nothing about.

I looked at it this morning and my first thoughts were, why are we spending all this money on a brochure when you only need a leaflet, offering free gifts to entice people to buy a season ticket which has gone up, but if they didn't do all this the season ticket could be cheaper.
