Should the club do a ticket deal for this being on TV?

Have a feeling we'll be matched in numbers by over 6000 Sunderland fans.

Yes but some fans seem to think we always fail when we have a big crowd. :cigar:
If we get a run together I think we should get a decent crowd. Cov fans are hot and cold as you know so a bit of confidence will do wonders.

They won't get that many because the maximum number of away fans is now capped at 5000. Second point, we have 6500 season ticket holders. Even allowing for a few no shows, are you saying we won't sell a single ticket between one month ago when they went on sale and the end of next month? C'mon.

Sunderland having 6000 and us having 7000 still looks awful, especially on TV.

Not necessarily for this match, but I do think the club over the years could really buck its ideas up when it comes to ticket deals. The priority rarely seems to be about getting a packed house.

I know they've started ok, but are they seriously going to bring 5 - 6,000 for a televised game at 12:30? I'm pretty sure when we played them in the Championship at the Ricoh they only brought about half that number.

Yes. Most Sunderland fans say that all their away games sell out before general sale and that this will be no different. Let's not forget this is a relatively close game for them.

They practically gave tickets away for the Accrington game last season and 5 or 6 thousand still didn't bother turning up..... if people can't be bothered to turn up when it's £5 for adults and free kids tickets then why bother with the offer when they can charge £25 a ticket and get less fans but make more money?

In my opinion when you do things like the Accrington you will catch one or two kids and get them hooked.
Then you get a fan for life.
Lose £20 on that match gain thousands over the years. I think they calm it a ‘loss leader’
Just my opinion

I'm pretty sure there was more of a loss than £20 on that game.

Why cap it at 5000 in a 32000 stadium, I'm sure there were about 7000 Celtic fans for that testimonial. They won't bring that many though for a 12.30 on TV. I hate early kick offs too, so messes up the day. I think they will bring around 3,000 and there will be around 9000 Cov. People just haven't got the money these days, so if they can watch it for the price of a couple of pints somewhere they will.

As in if you lose £20 from that person on that day but secure them as a fan for life you will make your £20 back.
As I say it’s called a loss leader.
It helps if you put on an exiting product to capture the fan for life when you do it.

Our crowds have never increased following a price promotion offer.

I know, unfortunately.
I still think it could work though especially if when we do it, we manage to deliver an exiting product on the day followed by a successful run.
I still think it’s the only way to go, we need to capture the kids as future fans.

We do. We have as many ticket offers as we are allowed per season.

Is there a limit on them?
I never knew that?
Do know how many are we allowed, is that of the type of nature of the Accrington one, or is that a limit on any type of ticket offer.
It’s the Accrington type of one I would like to see more of?

They took double what we took to Gillingham and theirs was on a Tuesday, ours was Saturday and their journey was obviously a lot longer. They will sell out whatever allocation we give them.

There's a limit set on ticket offers by the EFL per season, yes.

Looking forward to this one and they will add to what little atmosphere we have at present.
The early ko is great as can jump in a taxi and straight down to the BPA to watch Cov take on London Irish.

I requested the day off work to go to this game , boss put me on nights so I finish a run of 5 nights finish Saturday morning at 8 ain’t gonna be a mad day out now
