MR paid 200k for him.

MR picked him before other players

MR put him on rather than Hiwula against Gillingham

It doesn't really mean that much

That was rather baffling. Hiwula was very promising vs Blackpool.

I could open up a can of worms to answer why certain players get more stick than others but then I will get told I'm playing a card and told to pack it in

So I won't...

I think fans should cut him some slack if he hits the woodwork from outside the box or the GK produces a genuine worldie, but otherwise any player worthy of the shirt would never miss a single chance. I presume 'Come on the old five!' refers historically to just five or six chances in the game and all of them would always land in the back of the net (obviously apart from the ones that hit the woodwork or were foiled by worldies). And that is why the last time we got promoted from the fourth tier it took only 230 games to get another promotion.

So only another 226 games to go!

Of course he will...just like the majority backed him and Biamou last him.

Those that could see talent. Back players to hilt.

Biamou is shite - whatever happens Biamous professional career will be far shorter than bakayokos

I think that unfortunately for Bakayoko he apparently cost us about £200k, which is the sort of fee we would expect to pay for someone like, for instance, James Collins. Someone with a proven scoring record even in a lower league. So people are comparing his previous record against that and see it as unfavourable. If we had got him on a free it would have been totally different.

And as I have said many times, Steve, it is fine to be concerned. Just don't think it is right to totally dismiss him out of hand as a player based on only 5 games.

After how many games does it become acceptable? 10? 20? Whole season?

Yes, it's unfair on the lad and doesn't help the team either. We don't like undisclosed fees but I suppose this is a good example of where it would have been an advantage. I don't think a fee has ever been officially quoted for Bakayoko but it came from somewhere. Some of my recent posts have expressed concern but I would never write a player or the team off so early.

We are a fickle bunch and have a go at O’Brien, burge, grimmer, sterling, JCH, biamou. And last season Haynes etc etc etc. Criticism and crucifixion of players who may not be good enough for the league we are in but who more often than not do their best.

More than 5. The whole team has failed to gel at all well on the whole. Players are new and finding their feet. We keep changing the team.

10-12 games should give us a much better idea if players are going to be good enough. I still have faith in Sterling and the jury is still out on Bakayoko and Browne.

I think we should judge a player after he has had a few games playing in his favoured position, being given the sort if service he likes.

Bakayoko is no Biamou. Long balls for him to head are a waste of time. From what I understand he likes balls to his feet, and he has pace.

He was better in his cameo 5 minutes on Saturday, wasnt even caught offside.

I've a feeling Robins likes a project striker every year. Biamou was never a target man at Sutton but we paid a small fee and Robins spent most of last season coaching it into him. Really think he's trying to do the same here too - paid a small fee for a young player with attributes he thinks he can work with and then enhance him as a player as the season progresses.

I agree a nice pair of slacks is just what he needs
