My point is the UK equivalent is not elected, you don’t know anything about him and you cannot vote against him if you find out he only got the job through e.g. his old school tie. You can’t even name him. Yet you criticise the EU procedures as being undemocratic.
Why don't you come out with all the shite you are leading up to. I have had enough of playing your silly games.

And when you are finished we can compare whatever crap you come out with to the crap with Selmayr.

So where is your evidence?

A lot of EU regulations are ignored by countries in the EU. Yet our standards in quite a few are better.

Yet our standards will definitely be lower once we leave?

Rees Mogg and Co are on about deregulation immediately after Brexit. Deregulation means in effect lowering standards. I’m surprised you didn’t know Rees Mogg‘s plans as you think he is ok.

Would you like to explain to me what RM has to do with the process?

So are you saying that all regulations will be dropped?

JLR have been moving out of the UK for years.

But as I said it depends on several things. We have the expertise. But do we have the capacity straight away?

And it also depends on what sort of trade deal there is.

We could continue to guess all day long. But like for most problems it depends on the trade deal. And we are not allowed to talk trade.
I'm not sure it's true to say JLR have been moving out of the UK for years because I think theyll maintain a strong UK presence. They certainly had the Slovakian factory signed off long before the referendum so that can't be pinned on Brexit.
But JLR plants are just in time and I expect huge problems in JIT supply chains if we leave with no deal.[/QUOTE]

Yeah I'm sure the UK will be able to dictate the terms of a trade deal to the USA and retain all of our current high standards.

And the likes of Rees Mogg are massive advocates of the current restrictions on working hours, pay, maternity pay and holidays.

After your parroting of May's magic money tree I can already imagine you repeating their inevitable empty slogans about working hard and making sacrifices to make Britain great and a powerhouse etc

Heard a clip on the radio of some mad lefty woman (Tracey someone ?? ) at the conference saying that unless labour get their way she wants to call on her 'brothers and sisters' in the trade unions to call for a general strike....And you wonder why i detest lefties lol

There was once a general strike called because the government wanted to reduce miners wages by 10 or 20 percent.

I could just imagine some Rees mogg type character telling you to take a cut and you doffing your cap and tugging your forelock saying yes sir, if that's what you thinks best sir!
As for this call for a general strike, it is nonsense.

He wants deregulation and the dropping of tariffs. That is in the suggestions that come from the IEA dark money free market think tank that he loves and BoJo has now praised. But, you are an admirer and should know that.

Seen as more serious in the EU than UK?

Show me what you know. This will be fun.

I’ve just told you. I can post some links if you like but that would be more a case of showing you what you don’t know rather than showing you what I know. Alternatively before you start talking nonsense why don’t you go and look for yourself and do some fact checking beforehand.

Here’s some pointers for you. There’s at least two British MEP’s who have been jailed for expense fraud and forced to pay it back. There’s been a few British MP’s jailed for the same and a good few more who were deselected, resigned, retired early and paid money’s back to avoid further scrutiny/legal action. I really find it hard to believe that you need a link for the latter given the size of the scandal and how well it was covered.

Cash for questions. There was one fairly high profile case of an Austrian MEP who went to jail for it. There was a big scandal here in the U.K. (again I can’t believe you need a link for this) but I wrongly or rightly don’t believe and MEP’s went to jail for it and I can always only think of Neil Hamilton who ever faced any real action over it.

More for self gain i reckon !!

What do I gain if Brexit crashes? Would be nice to know. I expect cheap trips home and CCFC becomes cheaper because of the pound‘s weakness. There is that, but I am not the person who gloats ovér other people‘s problems... unless of course they are the Brexit culprits like Banks or Farage. They are fair game.

Funny enough though, a true lefty would agree with your Brexit opinion ;)

Certainly can't with Selmayr as he has the job for life. And he is in charge of much more.

So come out with your point and show evidence for once.

You do realise that Britain’s top civil servant has been in the unelected job for decades under various PM’s and two parties. Although if Boris or Gove got the PM’s job instead of May it was widely suggested that he would have been sacked because he’s a remainer and they would bring their own Brexit backing civil servant in instead. Jobs for the boys doesn’t just happen in the EU you know. Presumably if this had have happened you would have spitting feathers.

Well the Tories have just recently voted that animals aren’t sentient beings so it hardly bodes well for animal farming standards.

Remember when you said about the big tax giveaway to corporations? It raised tax paid and made jobs. When not part if the EU we can do the same. This is a main reason why the EU doesn't want to give us a deal. This would be our competitive advantage.

But you showed last time that you don't understand corporate tax and the implications.

I pay corporation tax ... 15%. Sounds good, but then comes 5,5% solidarity tax and then local business tax..takes it to over 35%... I do know the implications, and some claim that lower corporation tax brings more revenue. Maybe at some point, but one attraction of the U.K. for US firms was as the gateway to the EU. Now that is gone, and May is trying to sell the U.K. as a pro business paradise. A sell out. In the EU we were in negotiations for a US trade deal which Trump cancelled as too biased to the EU. Now we have no US trade deal in sight and need to keep the investment flowing in. We are in no position to negotiate with the USA and need investment from everywhere to cover any upheaval from Brexit.

This from a CNN report:

CNN)It must have been toe-curling. The leader of the nation that painted much of the globe an imperial red promising tax breaks for big business to compensate for leaving the world's largest trading bloc.

American businessmen listening to British Prime Minister Theresa May might have been forgiven for embarrassed coughs while she made undeliverable promises like a second-hand car salesman on the fringes of the United Nations General Assembly in New York this week

Riiiiiight.
It is completely irrelevant to the point both I & indeed La Maire was making.

It was virtually saying that regardless of whether peole want to leave. To survive - the EU must send the message that there will be grave consequences for you as a nation.

Now to me that is disregarding any hard-Brexit/no-deal impact on their own EU citizens who have jobs that depend on exports to Britain, or indeed exports, in favour of pursuing the EU dream of political, financial & econ...lets face it - modern day Greater-German empire!

I think it might be a good idea to have a second referendum.

What does everyone think about that?

No thanks. But can we just make our decisions via The Clapometer on Robert Pestons new show. It would make life easier.
