Does appear this Dr. Ford was indeed sexually assaulted all those years ago, but could it be the mistaken identity that Kavanaugh's team is suggesting?

Also noticed one tweet where someone was deriding the fact that this victim remembered everything about the actual incident, but not exactly where and when.

Whatever your opinion on the validity of these claims surely the sensible thing to do would be to halt the process pending a proper investigation into his guilt. I'm sure if he's guilty Trump would be able to find another lawyer capable of following orders and if not he can enter the court without questions hanging over him. If he gets confirmed today then this will hang over him for his entire term - which is life on the US Supreme Court.

The republicans don't want that as it will be pushed to after the mid terms when they won't have a majority in the Senate. Lindsay Graham says the democrats would push the appointment back to after the 2020 election in the hope of them having the next president and filling the seat. That may happen if they have to find another candidate and start the process again. Whatever happens, Kavanaugh is not a neutral balanced person or judge. The American Bar Association has said there should be a further FBI investigation before confirmation. Kavanaugh, when asked whether he would be for a FBI investigation to clear his name, said he would do whatever the committee wants - knowing full well that they, and Trump, don't want the FBI to investigate. Strange answer if you are innocent. I think he has shown himself to be dishonest about several small things and lost his cool under questioning and attacked the questioners verbally asking them about their drinking habits. Ok, if he wasn't in a job inteview being interviewed by his future employers, but in this case, I wouldn't give him this job which is for life.
