Small sample size I know, but I've seen them on TV a couple of times and he's been the best player on the pitch. Stands out on MOTD too, which I know can sometimes be deceiving, but he's had a lot of football people speaking out on his talent so must be something there.
He's a cracking player who's been managed well and whose career has all been about developing as a player. You've got to give him and his agent that. And as a consequence of that the big money has followed.

They do like him,i'm not saying they don't,it just one or two who are not overly convinced just yet,i think that may come down to a couple issue's,1, he is Mahrez replacement and a big act to follow,2, he came from us, he has scored 3 goals so far with a couple of assists, not bad and we forget he is still only 21 so yes,the best is still to come,i've told them they have a good player on there hands but as a Cov fan they don't always believe me,after all we are talking about Leicester here.

I'm the same with Henderson. I'm amazed he plays as high as he does. Didn't see it then, don't see it now.
I quite rated Henderson and thought he could turn out to be a cracking player. Never had him down to captain England though.

When I first saw Maddison, I thought 'yes' I could see an international player there down the line, but then that enthusiasm waned as he did indeed dive and fall over a lot and looked particularly lightweight.

Wasn't then convinced he would make international level at all.

One player I did see as a potential England player was Adam Armstrong. He looked like he had the speed, the intelligence and the eye for goal.

I might well be wrong now on that one, though he is still only 21.

Have high hopes for Bayliss too. Still raw yet, but I think he could go on to great things.

So if he gets another goal or assist they'll still be able to tally them up on one hand

Basically at League One level he did get brought down all the time. It was the oppositions only answer and the poor standard of referee let it happen without the necessary cards.

I'm absolutely mystified by the social media wankathon from sky blues supporters over this news.
He's left, good luck to him, hope it pockets us a few quid but not really arsed.

I agree to a certain extent but he's a local lad doing well. People will know him and his family, will have gone to school with him, live on the same road, etc, etc.

We should also be proud of the quality of players our academy is turning out. When one of them gets to the top it should be celebrated.

Yeah, suppose it's all about context. Mahrez is a top class player with experience. It's unreasonable to expect Maddison to directly replace him but that's what is football fans do.

Yeah, agree.

We played a large part in his development, so if and when he does play for England I will be remembering that for sure.

I support every England player that pulls on the jersey anyway.

Good luck to the lad and I hope he makes the grade.

He really toughened up at Aberdeen. Saw him in an early game for them and he was getting ragged all over the place. Few months later he was holding his own. Like I say, some thought has gone in to his development rather than chasing a quick buck

Agree, but some of the comments are embarassing.
Even the knickerstichers aren't gushing that much and he's one of theirs now.

this is bittersweet for me, delighted for him but if we'd kept him and gone up that season under Mowbray I wonder how different things could be now.

cest la vie, congrats madders

Yup. Even though we hot promoted last year makes you think we missed a great chance to be in with a shot of prem again

Great news for the lad ,looks good on the city academy aswell,
Has more talent in his left toe than half the English midfielders.
Nice to see Coventry lads doing well , just need Callum Wilson to make it now

Didn't we get money for Kirkland playing for England even though he'd moved on from Liverpool?

Well yep, if talented kids see that City youngsters go on to international recognition they may well be more eager to come here.

Mount is a serious talent but like Foden at Man City have to question whether he’s ever going to get a chance at his club

The other lad Sancho did the right thing by leaving Man City to go to Dortmund. 6 assists in 6 games so far, including 2 in the CL
On the flip side golden gets to learn from guardiola. Will do his career no harm imo

That may well be the case, but i live in Leicester,a stones throw from the king power and regularly drink with a few Leicester fans who attend both home and away games, yes! Maddison is growing on them, but they are not all convinced yet as it is still early days.Just what i hear.
How odd, created more chances than any other English player in the premier league, scored 3 and 2 assists in 7 PL games, seems to get MOTM most weeks....

Not much negativity here..Maddison named in England squad

Yep don’t get it either. Didn’t like the fact that he wasn’t arsed when he came back on Loan from Norwich, but he has certainly improved and proved me wrong by doing the business at the top level.

Agreed. Getting picked for England isn't exactly that hard is it?

I never saw it with Henderson, but then I still don't for club or country. Clearly I'm wrong as everyone tells me how good he is, but I just cant see anything there.
I agree, to me he seems to just hit square balls, point with his finger a lot and not have that fluent style of running like a natural athlete, but like yourself I'm probably totally wrong too

Can't believe anyone doubted him, clearly an International player, potentially world class if he stays clear of injuries. As for the cash we get a percentage of what Norwich have agreed with Leicester. So if the sell on fee is 10% we then get 10% of any add one Norwich recieve. Which is why I didn't quite believe Sisu having a stake in his career etc etc etc.

I don’t see it with Henderson still and it shows how far the quality pool has dropped.

Regarding Maddison I don’t get also. It’s too easy to get a call up these days. I know his a Cov kid etc but hasn’t done enough in my opinion to warrant a call up. It’s not right.

Callum wilson deserves a look in if Maddison has earned a call up.

Messi and Ronaldo are world class and I doubt Maddison will be anything apart from a good footballer.

The word world class gets used to often.

Maradona, cruyff. Moore, best, messi, Ronaldo and bakayoko are world class !
