Anybody want to start?

First half everybody played well, second half we just sat and invited pressure. All 3 subs made absolutely no difference to the game, Kelly with another poor clearance.

A game of 2 halves. Didnt create enough from open play, but very dangerous from set pieces. 2 great strikes. Got completely dominated in the second half but dug in

Burge 8
Sterling 6
Willis 7 (-1 for the poor miss)
Davies 7.5
Brown 6 (bonus point for the clearance)
Thomas 8.5 MOTM
Bayliss 5
Doyle 5
Hiwula 6.5 (great strike, needs to affect the game more in open play)
JCH 5 (he is so one footed, he can't even use his right for a simple 5 yard pass)
Chaplin 6

Subs
Kelly 4
Jones 4
Ogogo 4

Willis deserves a point taking off a very good performance for a shocking miss and a shit cross when we were through on goal.

Thought JCH was anonymous. Shocking attempt at a shot.

Defending a lead is what he should help do best.

Burge 6 - one of his least convincing games in a while. Can't recall him catching a ball, but no real faults.

Sterling 7 - defensively rugged when needed, generally a decent outlet. Suffered from a lack of movement in the second half and a few clips up the line to no-one, but I'd prefer that than giving it away in more dangerous areas.
Willis 8 - stout defensive performance. Won his battles with aplomb and really glad he was brought back in.
Davies 7 - arguably performed better than Willis for the first 60 minutes but then a few errors crept in and it got a bit nervy.
Brown 4 - really not sold on him in the slightest. Decision making was pretty appalling. Has mistakes in him. Tried to over complicate play too often.

Thomas 9 - brilliant performance today and my MOTM. Took his goal really well and hassled the opposition from the 1st to the 90th minute. The only player to keep up that intensity for the whole match.
Bayliss 6 - looked back to his old self in the first half, faded badly in the second. Looked knackered by the time he was taken off.
Doyle 5 - set pieces were reasonably good, passing wasn't great and he didn't get stuck in which was sorely needed throughout the second half.
Hiwula 7 - great finish for his goal. Looks much more comfortable out there than at the beginning of the season. Did his fair share of defensive work.

Chaplin 6 - made a number of good interceptions and has great physicality for such a diminutive figure. Could have done better with a half-chance in the first half.
JCH 6 - worked himself into the ground, link up play was ok. Again, should have done better with his chance.

Jones 4 - looked to have no belief in his ability, and seriously lacked the fitness to pick up the speed of the game.
Kelly 5 - came on and made an immediate impact by hassling their left back into a mistake. Fitness then took its toll.
Ogogo 5 - can't really remember him doing much.

Burge 5.5 - few slightly dodgy moments but none were costly

Sterling 7.5 - gritty, and strong performance. Good going forward first half, not so much in the second half but that goes for the entire team

Willis 8 - really good game would have been a 9 but the miss was so bad and there was a really goof chance for a cross which he messed up

Davies 8 - also immense in the middle. Won every header. I love Hyam, but so hard to get him in with these two performing like they are. Great problem to have

Brown 5 - would have been a 4 but that block at the end was quality. I like him and his style of play but too often he’s trying too hard to play it out and getting himself in trouble

Thomas 9 - quality from start to finish and a deserved goal. Worked his socks off defensively and always an outlet to run at people

Doyle 6 - delivery was much better today but fairly anonymous otherwise.

Bayliss 6 - some quality touches, he looked knackered when he came off but think we missed his ability to run through midfield

Hiwula 7 - always a threat with his pace. Helped brown out defensively throughout, took his goal very well.

Chaplin 5 - fairly anonymous, kept coming deep and first half looked fairly neat, second half he was almost playing as a CDM

JCH 7 - battled well, linked up nicely, missed a fairly good one on one at an angle with an effort cut across goal

Kelly 5 - didn’t really make us any more solid and didn’t offer anything going forward

Ogogo 6 - offered some energy and played further up the park than usual

Jones 4 - didn’t look fit at all and decision making was poor.

Burge 7 couple of dodgy kicks and one spill he made up for otherwise solid
Sterling 7 did his job well I thought
Willis 7 would have 8 but shocking miss first half and cross 2nd half
Davies 8 immense (also loved the double block and celebs combo)
Brown 6 I feel a bit sorry for him he tries to get the ball down and play, if there if is a pass on when he looks up he,s fine however often there isn’t and then wait for movement and then if there isn’t he gives it away too easily
Hiwula 7 great goal
Doyle 6
Bayliss 6 hé,s the one outfield player we don’t have like for like replacement for and as such is vital he stays fit and we rest him when we can
Thomas 7
Chaplin 6 would still like to see him player higher up the pitch
JCH 7 thought he was great first half, and does great job when defending set pieces which is why I think he gets left on rather than subbed for Baka

Kelly 6
Jones 4 poor stuff from him
Ogogo 5

Jordan Willis was nothing short of exceptional in the 2nd half. Without him, we would have lost.
you could say if he had a cooler head we’d have been 4 up so he wouldn’t have needed to battle so much. Swings and roundabouts though, we won and everybody did their jobs again.

Rubbish - he’s a centre half not a forward and I’d he scored the game changes anyway and the subsequent chances wouldn’t have happened

Doyle and brown very poor. Looking forward to mason returning. Davies and willis were great, sterling solid. Really hope we can keep thomas til the end of the season, my favourite player at the moment. Kelly looked well off the pace when he came on.

Brown made alot of poor decisions but is still part of a solid back 4. He made up for most of mistakes by putting block in etc.

And that goal line clearance st end is huge.

More games He gets hopefully he wi improve

Radio reporting some had Brown MOTM lol for me he’s nowhere near Brandon Mason worries me in possession positioning is awful he gets caught out time and time again.

Burge - 6 Not a huge amount to do but didn't make any major errors
Brown - 6 Seems wildly inconsistent. He made some good last ditch tackles/blocks today but often these came about as he was out of position or behind play.
Willis - 8 Did make a few glaring errors in the opposition's penalty area but he was dominant in ours.
Davies - 8 Some important blocks and defended well. Looks a real threat at set pieces also and was denied by a great save.
Sterling - 7 Still improving and looking ever more like a prospect for Chelsea.
Hiwula - 6 Nice finish, didn't do much wrong.
Doyle - 6 Generally played well. Set-pieces were a bit variable and I think a lot of our play was focused wide.
Bayliss - 6 Showed a few flashes of talent going forward but I suspect he came off on 60 minutes as MR wanted a more combative CM.
Thomas - 9 Outstanding & never gave up (even when knackered). I'm so pleased he scored and can see him being integral to our season if he keep improving.
JCH - 6 Saw a few of his limitations today. He battled well but it wasn't one of his better games.
Chaplin - 6 Really quiet.

Kelly - 6
Ogogo - 5
Jones - 5

Last few games Brown is making sure he challenges outside the box so gives a free kick away and breaks down a dangerous attack. Think that means he is learning. Willis marked down for missing a goal and messing up a cross, He plays CD so keep on at him and he will stop making those runs and not get marked down.

Burge 6: fairly solid but not up to his standard last few weeks

Sterling 7: good solid performance and continues to improve. Able to get forward first half but not second.

Willis 9: my MOM. yes he missed a couple of half chances from corners but immense at the back.

Davies 8: so solid Throughout. Also dangerous at corners.

Brown 6: a few loose passes and caught out at times but crucial block and always looking to get team playing.

Doyle 6: some loose passes from corners and free kicks. Loved the way he congratulated Brown after a strong challenge.

Baylis 6: being more disciplined defensively is not his game but he performed it well.

Hiwula 7: first half excellent but faded second. Works hard to get back and support defence.

Thomas 8.5: so pleased for the lad re the goal. Like hiwula not afraid to work backwards as well as forward. Lots of talent and always trying to make things happen.

Chaplin 6: great first half...lots of good movement and intelligent play linking JCH, hiwula and Thomas. Second half tired a lot and like all dropped too deep.

JCH 6: at his best and his worst. Some great work and then appears off pace.

Whole team dropped too deep second half. Yes Donny came at us but we conceded too much territory.

Absolutely nothing wrong with Doyler today. Struggling to understand some of the scores and criticisms on here but a few seem down on him at present. He was exposed when Bayliss went off for Kelly who lacks match fitness and struggled. That was a mistake as Bayliss offered a much greater outlet when we had the ball and shouldn't have been taken off inviting pressure.

We were good 1st half but then thought it was over and couldn't get going again which was poor.

I thought Hyam unlucky to miss out but Willis showed us exactly why he was straight back in. I like all 3 cb but I think Willis is the main man I'm there.

On the whole I think most have seen it the way I saw it.....Willis man of the match, Davies and Thomas not far behind. Brown looked like the weakest link in the back four, but tremendous block at the end, and obviously playing while not 100% well, hence dashing off to the changing room at the final whistle.
Aside from the team, I thought the SBA in the corner were fantastic today, and, for a change, the referee was one of the best I've seen in a while.

Willis and Davies very good.

Thomas once again superb.

JCH was isolated compared to previous games. Donny did their homework on him.

Chaplin had some neat touches early on but poor second half.

Brown was full of mistakes.

Davies and Willis were fantastic. Brown is a weird one. Pretty much won the game with his late block but is rash sometimes and for every good thing he does he immediately follows it with a mistake it seems. Still warranted a 6 for me. Anyway.
Burge 6
Sterling 7
Willis 8
Davies 9
Brown 6
Thomas 8
Bayliss 6
Doyle 7
Hiwula 7
Chaplin 7
JCH 6

Burge 6 – got away with a few things today
Sterling 7 – has improved beyond recognition from his early performances (and needed to)
Willis 8 – a couple of embarrassing mistakes when attacking, but fantastic at the back
Davies 8 – a centre half to build around
Brown 5 – haircut like Willian, played like will.i.am at times (but I’m confident he’ll come good)
Doyle 5 – the usual workrate, but created almost nothing, especially second half
Bayliss 6 – in this current role, needs to cut out the fancy stuff in his own half, have to find a way to play him further up the pitch
Thomas 9 – a fine goal and was a total nuisance to Doncaster the whole game
Hiwula 8 – played out of position and worked so hard, showed his pedigree with the goal
JCH 5 – sorry, I can see he has skill for a big man, but ponderous today, sometimes almost motionless
Chaplin 7 – thought he worked hard without much service

Jones 6 – not sure what he did so wrong? Will naturally take a while to get back to his best.
Ogogo 6 – given a strange role when he came on
Kelly 6 – more of an all-rounder than Bayliss, maybe the change saved the day
