Absolute backward fuck wits ! Sickening morons ! I hope someone offers her refuge pronto.
It's like we've gone back 500 years in time isn't it.

There is just no place and no excuse for this kind of thinking in the 21st century.

I have known a number of Muslims closely over the years and they have all been nice people, but there clearly is a massive problem with so many within the religion.

It's clear as day that unless they allow this woman to seek refuge outside of Pakistan they have signed her death warrant.

It's no wonder I think religion is a load of bollocks when I come across this kind of thinking.

And if this thinking did actually ever prove to be true, then God is a very, very horrible, spiteful, nasty and hateful individual.

This NW's point clearly is though that you can't paint everyone with the same brush.

There are so many peace loving Muslims out there.

The ones we are talking about is this instance though are a very scary and hateful bunch indeed and the thinking here is mediaeval at best.

You can pretty much paint the Pakistan approach with the same brush and that needs to be acknowledged and particular here in terms of grooming gang philosophy

The hand ringing liberal do gooders do more harm than good in that example

Your missing the point completely Otis, and, right now starting to sound like a bit of an apologist.
A THIRD of British Muslims accept violence against people who mock Mohammed. All you think is "well, 2/3 don't so all good in the world"!
1 person with that view is 1 person too many!
The problem with most racial tension is the apologists. People that won't accept any form of wrong doing and will always try and find good in a bad situation. But it only ever works towards the Muslim community, everyone can be offended but please don't offend the Muslims.
2 examples,
1) A baker in N.Ireland refuses to bake a gay cake because of his religious views and the whole country is in uproar! "How dare he have beliefs and stand by them!? Let name and shame the company and boycott it until he loses everything! It's disgusting he has a belief"!
2) 12 people die and 11 injured in an attack in France at Charlie Hebdo. People say "well.... they shouldn't really be drawing cartoons about islam"!?

The baker harmed nobody really. Maybe upset the guy who asked for the cake but nobody was killed or injured but he got (unwarranted) dogs abuse.

You keep repeating that only half want this so half don't etc.
3 scenarios. Would you ever use that same apologetic excuse for any of the following? If not, then why is it acceptable for what you have used it for?

1) 1940, the SS and murdering Jews and pillaging every town and city possible. But it's only a handful of German people. The majority (60%) of Germans are law abiding, nice people. So it's fine. Let them carry on.

2) Ricoh arena, 3 men sat in front of you are giving Hiwula dogs abuse for being black. But it's only 3 people or of 12000 or so. The vast majority of the fans here are fine, so, all's good in the world. Carry on as normal.

3) The EDL have a bit of a rise in popularity and 50 or so don white hoods and have a bit of a free for all. Beating up minorities in the street and putting their windows through etc. But....... the majority of white people you know don't act like that. Most white people are tolerant these days, this is only a handful of idiots. Ignore them and they'll go away eventually.

Would you use those excuses for these scenarios like you have the Muslim ones?
But I am talking world wide in terms of Muslims, not just Pakistan.

Obviously a massive, massive problem in countries such as Pakistan.

As you say, a third in this country think it's acceptable. That means two thirds don't.

I bet in Pakistan that proportion is at very least totally reversed.

I am not an apologist at all, patsy.

I hate all religion and have a particular dislike for Islam and its backwards thinking.

I am against Sharia law and the veil and the burkha and jihad and all the other crap.

I don't think I am missing the point. I am saying Britain isn't the same as Pakistan and that we can't label all Muslims the same.

Oh and I am all for the cartoons of Mohammed. They definitely should be allowed and long may they continue

Agree there is a problem here and I really don't want people like that in our country, I really don't.

Most Muslims here though are peaceful and don't have this Pakistani nonsense thinking.

Of course a 1/3 here is still a big, big problem. No-one can deny that at all.

It's a huge concern.

Pakistan Muslims in the uk are generally the same. I think around 40% of Muslims in this country are from Pakistan.

I’m sceptical on population forecast research but one that looked at average immigration through Europe and birth rates of population estimated 13 million uk citizens would be Muslim in 30 years

As I say I’m not entirely convinced by the methodology but that is a problem

But your sounding very much the appologist.
Apologising for the behaviour of 1/3 of people just because 2/3 don't think like that. I get they don't ALL think like but some do! And they need bringing to task. Not ignoring.
Like I say, would you apologise for Hitler because most Germans/Austrians are nice People?

Now it's you who is missing the point.

All I am saying (and nothing else) is that you can't paint all Muslims with the same brush.

I never, ever said it is okay that a 1/3 of the Muslims in the UK feel the same way.

You are completely misreading my posts unfortunately.

You won't find anyone who dislikes religion more that me and as I say, I hate the backwards thinking of Islam and do so with a passion.

I hate the fact that we have Biritish people here with that kind of philosophy and thinking.

Never, ever said it wasn't a problem.

This is the sort of ignorance in the religion.

Needs correcting slightly.

'Women who don't correctly wear the hijab and properly cover themselves can attract demons (other men) and get possessed (by other men)
No he means what he says, a Jinn is an invisible supernatural creature not a man, they are specifically distinct in the Koran.
Jinn - Wikipedia
Of course it is all bollocks but genuinely believed by these guys.

It's all just bollocks masquerading as religion and used as a means to keep women down and give the men massive power trips.

Imagine telling your wife / partner to go and sit in a cupboard when a man enters the house and to cover her up from head to toe so other men can't see her? That sort of behaviour might be explained away as religious necessity but it's really just good old fashioned misogyny.

I agree, though am really onboard with that idea of the cupboard.

Thanks for the tip.

I remember when Satanic Verses came out and there was book burning in the streets of Bradford and a death threats to Rushdie. I thought this was so alien to the British way of life (I bought the book as a protest) and I expected the establishment to back up British enlightened views. But no, I remember especially the church siding with the book burners, saying we shouldn't offend those of faith. I got the impression that the Christian church was jealous of the power Islam had over its followers largely lost in secular Britain. (You could probably argue that Islam is just a plagiarised version of Christianity anyway). Tolerance was seen as a weakness by those fundamentalists.
And so it started......and so it continues. Only education can stop it but we've made that more difficult with faith schools.

Agree. I hate the very concept of faith schools.

We all know that those of faith teach their children at home anyway and they attend mosques and temples and churches at the weekend and on evenings.

There are religious studies and Bible groups etc. etc. etc. My neighbours were Christians and would go to church 4 times a week.

No need to have faith schools at all as far as I am concerned.

Let all children learn about all religions at state and independant schools and then leave the individual creeds to be taught in their own religious institutions across the country.

Tony fucking Blair is culpable for a huge expansion in 'faith' schools.
Then there is a growing problem with unregistered schools
Should a school be in a place like this?

Not in the same league as the Islamic fundamentalists but they are a danger, and more so in the States.

I like Grendel. ..Says what he thinks and doesn't cry like a baby when others don't approve what he says.....Unlike some...

Just insults people. I have started insulting him back, but he just ran away and blocked me like a little kid. I think he’s not such a man as you seem to think..

I think Grendel would argue with his own shadow.

In fact, it would be interesting to know whether there's ever been a thread Grendel has posted on where he hasn't argued with someone.

I amazed that the UK government hasn't already given this woman asylum, I think they might be more worried that doing so may offend some people, don't you think.
