Regarding Ben Stevenson, Nuno Santo signed him who hasn’t done too bad in transforming an ordinary championship Wolves into a decent Premiership outfit, I think with potential to be a top half team too. Development of his youngsters is about just that development, I know Santo is Portuguese but lots of Spanish clubs send their young hopefuls to lower Seria league teams as I said earlier Guardiola does it. Time will tell if it works for Stevenson but just because he hadn’t broken into Wolves first team yet proves nothing.

Nino Santo hasn’t sent these Wolves youngsters to Spain for anything other than to improve their game, I believe Pep Guardiola does the same, Spanish play a lot possession and short passing game with balls to feet so let’s see how they develop.
And Man City are pouring youngsters into their 1st team. Much like Chelsea's much-vaunted youth system producing 1st team players. Both clubs continue to go out and buy 1st team players every summer.
Most Wolves youngsters aren't going to see PL football as ownership there going to carry on and develop policy of big money overseas signings. Only exception at Wolves is Gibbs-White who looks like being a real star.
Stevenson will end up back in Championship at best.

I wouldn't say it's far higher overall, but the top of the Championship is far higher than the top of Serie B.

Right now, Serie B is a mess. It was supposed to have had 22 teams competing, only 19 are because a few teams went completely bust. There are teams in Serie C refusing to play their fixtures because they believe they should be in Serie B because of said liquidations.

Winner: Championship wins by virtue of being able to actually organise itself.

Explained: Why Serie B will only have 19 teams this season

Depends what way you look at it. He's living in Spain with a group of young lads, playing at a standard that is beneath him and earning a healthy wage in doing so. Sounds better than playing for our u23's if you ask me.

Nothing to stop a Spanish team higher up the pyramid spotting him either

Nuno has absolutely nothing to do with Wolves’ transfer strategy. He’s head coach and picks the players he’s sent.

Yep. He plays for FC Jumilla in the Segunda B Group 4. Basically, the third level in Spain is split geographically into 4 divisions.

In this division are Real Murcia, Malaga B and Sevilla B and Ibiza!

Sounds like the Checkatrade trophy.

Stevenson wasn’t getting game time with us, nor Colchester. Frankly, he needs to build his game up somehow because he’s gone from a solid L1 performer to someone who can’t make an impact at a mid table L2 side.

You can’t blame him for wanting to leave given that he wasn’t getting game time and Bayliss had leapfrogged him. It’s just that he’s probably going to waste away at Wolves until his contract expires. That’s my 2 pence worth.

Regarding the OP for some reason Ben Stevenson is being written off as a failure because he hasn’t burst into the Wolves Premiership first team, only 21, and he only joined last January and at the time Wolves were flying at the top of the Championship likely for promotion which they achieved they obviously spotted something.
We have a player same age Zain Westbrooke hardly had a sniff of our third division team yet,is he a flop then ?

He's injured isn't he?

You are also ignoring Stevenson on loan to Colchester, hardly bossed league 2.

Do you have a clue what you are actually talking about before typing?

I’ll put my knowledge on football against yours anytime.

What like why Nazon wouldn't pass to McNulty? I'm still waiting for you to say how you are an expert in what people on here thought when ex players were here years ago as well.

Show me when I said Nazon wouldn’t pass to McNulty ?I don’t recall ever having a conversation about Nazon or McNulty so show me. Read this site for ages long before I signed up, why is it a private club

I was being sarcastic ;) Of course you just read the site for 6 years before signing up.

As for football "knowledge". You have already shown enough on this thread.

Ah the old “age” excuse comes to the fore again. So he’s 21, how old is Bayliss again? You can have Rúben Nevez at 21 aswell if you like?

Morgan Gibbs-White is 18 who also plays centre mid.

The point is players develop at different rates. How many players have we seen burst onto the scene at 18 and not live up to the hype? It's nowhere near too late for Stevenson. Whatever happens to him I certainly think his decision to leave was justified and I wish him well.

Hardly think George Thomas has pulled up too many trees since dancing a similar transfer move.

Yes I know he scored for Scunthorpe at the weekend but that's no higher than he was when he scored that goal at Wembley about eleventy billion years ago.

He is a Welsh international now though
