Doyle needs to be really careful ref is very quick with the cards

He seems to give into a bit of pressure too, a couple of appeals from them and he will probably be walking.

I bet they will be targeting Doyle to try and get him sent off.

Good things so far:
Bayliss gliding forward from midfield - it's a joy to watch. Excellent interplay between Bayliss, Chaplin and Thomas at times. Thomas creating nightmares for their defence similar to JJ at the start of last season. Burge has been exceptional. Willis and Hyam decent. Doyle has been ok.

Improvement required:
Hiwula is not a left winger. Has offered nothing in attack and is leaving Brown (who I think has been overall ok) very exposed. JCH very disappointing so far. Grimmer is not quite match sharp.

I'd bring JJ on for Hiwula at half time. I'd also bring on AB for JCH if there has been no improvement or contribution in the next 15 minutes. Kelly on for Doyle from 60 minutes as well.

First cross for them comes in but Hyam intercepts, they get it back and go very close. Shot is a couple of inches from the far post.

Hyam forced into an amazing tackle after Cole was clean through. Some bollocks there else it would have been a pen with any contact on the player.

He's not really been in the game, if he gets the ball he looks tidy but it's just getting him on the ball in the first place.

Our chances have mainly been from players making runs themselves and shooting, when we try to pass it forward and get at them like that we end up giving it away.

I'd say Chaplin and Grimmer have been worse, Chaplin has been anonymous. It's as if he wants to be the target man holding up the ball and laying it off and not the player making runs on the last man.

Chaplin has been far more involved than Hiwula. He's making decent runs and his link up play has been decent.

We need to bring Thomas back into the game and try to stretch them. Even just to take the pressure off us.

They really should have scored, their player in acres of space in the box but goes to pass it rather than shoot.

Grimmer may as well go and have a bath.

Need to get a foothold in the second half. Forwards need to hold the ball up, although we look at the most dangerous when we are on the break (as do they!) I'll take a draw now (unless we go one up!!)

Bayliss tries a long shot after the keeper was off his line. Never going to go in though as it didn't have enough on it.

Keeper caught it easily.

We don’t seem to have started the second half yet. Give the ball to Thomas and get him running at them. Ref seems quick to give a yellow so they won’t be keen to dive in.

Easy answer that you cannot, different players entirely.

What you can compare is the levels of grief both players get. One is hammered and is playing poorly, the other tho is liked and has been playing poorly too bet gets under the radar due to his liked status.

One has played much worse though, the one who gets more grief. Makes sense?

Anyone on with the game. Someone will win 1 nil. But who?

Anybody else at home, really nervous and trying to kick every ball (particularly when we are defending!)

Edit: Worse, as I have no beers in the house!

Thomas wins the ball well and takes a player on. Overhits it a bit so the keeper comes out and gets it before Thomas can get a shot. He was pretty much clean through.

JCH gets it on the left but absolutely nobody up with him so he has a shot but goes wide.
