Mourinho, mad dogs and Ogogo (3 Viewers)

Was just reading about 'The Special One' bemoaning his lack of mad dogs who will go and press he ball in midfield. I think some of our frustration in being able to take control (or compete effectively) in some games this season has stemmed from the lack of being able to replace/compensate/help Michael Doyle in the middle of the park. Clearly Doyle has a bit of that, but is on the wane, Thomas has it (but how long do we have him?) and we really need Ogogo and Kelly to come to the fore. MR must be desperate for this, as it is hindering the overall effectiveness of the side. I'm going to Walsall (who seem to be improving) and will be disappointed if having had some thinking time, and a break, we aren't fired up and on the front foot against them. Really hope MR has had time to tweak things to improve us.

Time for Bayliss to move out to the left and Kelly/Ogogo to come in to the middle.

Can’t agree with that. Bayliss is our best player and would be a waste on the wing. Ogogo just needs to start showing some form.
He doesn't play on the wing, he plays a sort of inside left!? Didn't you notice this at the end of last season?

Bayliss on the right and Thomas on the left!

I have long accepted that I no longer understand anything about formations in the modern game. When players had numbers one to eleven on their backs I knew we had 2 full backs, three midfielders, two wingers, and three forwards. Oh, and a goalie.
When I hear that someone plays "in the hole" etc my head hurts.

Is it totally unrealistic and ludicrous to suggest signing up Jay Tabb? He's 34 and a free agent. He was effective at spraying the ball around from midfield when he was with us. I assume he'd need some time to build his fitness up but if we move now, not in February, then unlike Baker he would have enough time to get fit enough to contribute.

At the very worst he'd be an experienced head around with the young kids and always struck me as a decent pro. If it's only on a pay as you play basis I'd be more than happy to have him about.

He doesn't even play football any more does he?

Any Accrington player - they all seem to be tough hardened players. Can't believe nobody has pinched their manager yet.

He plays semi-pro rugby. Hasn't played football for years.

Fair enough. When I asked whether it was realistic to re-sign him, it was a genuine question as didn't know if he'd drifted out of the game by now....
