You absolute shithouse c**t wtf has that got to do with racism? And btw as for city fan I was there whilst you listened to your best mate Clive the same at Fleetwood and pretty much every away game this season. I'm sticking you on mute so I won't see any more of your replies to annoy me. Have a nice time wumming and enjoy other bait.
calm down boys.

How many points would you give our goalkeeping coach?

I understand why Chaplin is getting such low marks, as his impact on the game yesterday was less than minimal. However, he was obviously playing to orders - why else was he the "No 9", with Bakayoko on the wing?
Chaplin ran and ran, to no avail, but was not helped by the fact that Bakayoko, especially in the second half, right in front of where I was standing, didn't win any more than 1 or 2 headers.

Would you start the same 11 next game?

I don't really think there was much wrong with how we started the game, we started really well. Only issue for me was Chaplin but who do you put there instead? Can only think of Hiwula.

Ogogo is def worst signing /player of the year he doesn’t even look fresh when he comes off the bench. I think he’s another Vincenti where he was very efect playing for a team on a smaller pitch, but post injury and bigger pitch can’t get about.

The formation/shape was as good as it has been all season yesterday. For the first time in a long time we created 4 or 5 genuinely good chances to score, not just 1 or 2 and the odd half chances. Yes we needed to play a little higher 2nd half but for the first time this season we had a functional plan A that will allow our better players to maximise their games rather than compensate for the weaker players.
The result was a sickener but the foundations were finally right and we have the right platform to build on - small tweaks to be made rather than a broken system.

This is a midtable side with a couple of young rough diamonds in it and an upper mid table finish will be a good effort in the context of where we were last year.

I would switch JCH for Baka next game, keeping Chaplin leading the line but ask JCH to play more central in partnership with Chaplin. We got an awful lot of crosses into the box first half with no-one to attack it.

I've calmed down.

My ratings were low.

However, some people giving out 7s and 8s across the board following another loss are too high.

One goalie fuck up away from a fairly solid 0-1 win away from home. I'd say most played well from the ratings, commentatory.

I'm not sure, I don't think JCH has the touch and the quickness that Baka seems to have. Take a touch, lay it off and then get into the box. JCH is hardly in the box for crosses when he is leading the line so to play him deeper I am not sure.

The issue then is if you play Baka where he did yesterday, who do you play in front of him?

Any one else thinking that Ponticelli looks better and better every week, without even being in the ground. By the time he’s fit, he will be world class!

Wasn’t able to attend yesterday and not had chance to watch the game back and only seen the brief highlights.
How did we set up in a attacking phase, general shape, formation...etc? Kelly on corners I’m guessing?

I suspect the second half performance was partly down to Kelly's lack of match fitness

Good shout and bring Chaplin off the bench he might Nick a goal when the pressure is off him from the start

Doyle must be seething about being dropped when he was saying during the week that he still felt great and had no intentions of retiring

Incredibly frustrating result, I thought we bossed the first half and looked well set to hit them on the break and close the game down in the 2nd....how wrong can you get!

Burge - 6 Bad mistake balanced by a very good save. His decisions seemed iffy today but hopefully these performances are becoming far less frequent for him.
Sterling - 7 Thought he dealt well with Ferrier for much of the game, glad to have him back.
Willis - 7 Generally looked solid but made the odd poor pass/clearance.
Davies - 6 Maybe this is harsh but I thought he looked partially at fault for the 1st goal which has knocked his score down.
Brown - 5 Looked decidedly on quite a few occasions which is s shame, I thought he'd been improving lately.
Kelly - 7 Looked good and possibly shows we can move away from a Doyle dominated midfield if we want to.
Shipley - 6 Faded quite a bit and started to make some poor decisions. By no means a bad performance but not a good one either.
Bayliss - 6 Showed the odd flash of brilliance but without much impact today. I do like watching him in the team and just hope he adds some end product soon.
Thomas - 7 Would have been an 8 or 9 had he taken that second chance. Great to watch but intensely frustrating inside the box on too many occasions.
Chaplin - 6 Had very little impact and is looking less and less likely to score goals. I always felt McNulty would start scoring but I'm no longer feeling so about CC.
Bakayoko - 6 Showed some good footwork at times and put some great crosses in. I'd like to see him given a chance given how patchy Hiwula seems.

Ogogo - 5 Naive and cost us a penalty, I've been really disappointed by him so far.
JCH - 6 Bad miss (to add to a few others this season) and some poor movement at times. Put in a good cross that should have been tucked away.

Referee - 4 Missed a pretty blatant trip on Cook and was generally crap for both sides.

Did burge cost us 3 points? Yes or no? It's a simple question
No, Burge didn't cost us the 3 points - if Thomas or JCH had taken their fairly simple chances to make it 2 - 0 then the Burge mistake would not have happened, or certainly wouldn't have affected the result in the way it eventually did.
I find it strange that you marked Burge down to 4, for not doing his job correctly (despite the brilliant save moments before), yet gave JCH a 6 when he didn't do his job?

The barometer to measure a performance varies in many I think it’s fair to say, but on Burge if he stays in his safe area of the goal, it don’t happen right?
The chaos that followed afterwards don’t happen too.

Goals win games very true but a costly mistake makes the difference here.

Can we pin it all on him no it’s unfair given the times in our 5 game run and others he’s been the difference in a positive way.

Hopefully there is no lasting confidence damage from this mistake.

I was at Walsall for FA Cup but not this game.

Based on some comments I read, did Bayliss fade in 2nd half?
I ask because nearly every time I have seen him he seems to fade after about 70/80 minutes.
At this stage of season he should be fit. If he's at the limit of his fitness I fear that he will not develop into the player he ought to

U find it strange that I marked a goalkeeper a 4 for costing us the game with a dumb mistake and also nearly being punished for similar decision making twice before in the same match?

You find it odd that I gave a subs striker a 6 and didn't mark him a 4 for missing a chance(Not an open goal) by mere inches?

Do You really find it odd? Really?

He went off on 81 this time. Got hooked because MR was protecting him from getting a red I think - was already on a yellow and was subbed immediately after he had gone down very easily under a challenge for which no free kick was given. He got bugger all from the ref all game which was already detracting from his game and looked like he was on the verge of losing his head over it.

With regards to his fitness, he didn't have to do nearly the same amount of box to box running with a more mobile Kelly behind him, particularly first half. Partially helped by Shipley's starting position too which was about 10 yards deeper than Hiwula. Would love to see his heatmap vs previous games - am sure it would be predominantly more advanced.

Thats nonsense - in terms of degree of difficulty the chance for Clarke Harris (which he created for himself) was harder than the horrendous error from Burge - it was a shocker

Gosh, it's taken you a long time to get involved in this - just watched the highlights on the TV?
You have a point, in that JCH made the chance for himself, by doing his job, but then he missed that chance which he should have scored, and Burge's attempt was a shocker, but can be balanced against the save he made a few minutes earlier that could/should have preserved the win. Both were culpable.
And what about the non-challenge by Davies on Leahy as he went up to head the ball in?

It don’t help Tom Davies is flat footed back peddling but the header had no conviction to it to trouble anyone, if your keepers at home he collects easily and wastes time a little allowing us to regroup to see the game out with just another 2 or mins left of play.
