Are we going to stay up? (9 Viewers)

Only three teams will go down. I believe only four teams are going to have a chance of going down:

Coventry City
Bristol City
Doncaster Rovers
Portsmouth

We all have seven games left. We have the best form (last 10 games) running into the battle. Lets see everyones last seven games:

Coventry:

Hull - they have lost last 3 games in a row
Peterbourgh
Bristol
Burnley - won 1 in last 10
Millwall
Doncaster
Southampton

I think we could win all them except for southampton; thats 18 points.
hopefully! I think 18 points will be enough to keep us up. What do you think??

I think you had better go and see a doctor. You seem to be very ill.

Haha SuperFred that's ambitious!

We can certainly do it - but for some reason I don't think we will.

why are you so pessimistic? we can win all 7

I am about the most optimistic person on here, but if you think we will win the next 7 games you need more than a doctor

Been in the delegation zone all year, why are we suddenly going to change into Barcelona?

Sadly despite our 'good run' (bloody damn right average in my eyes) I still dont see us scoring enough goals to stay up. Any side with an away record like ours deserves all that's coming to them.

I dont see us winning more than two games in the run in (the two are home games)
I dont see the away record changing. Why would it change now and I expect a tough game Saturday.
I dont see enough goals in this side
I dont see certain players still doing enough and I personal feel go through the motions (Clingan, Bell -when fit- Baker,)
I dont see Norwood getting enough help from fellow collegues in games in that midfield apart from McSheffery. Clingan, Baker, Bell, Deegan, Biggy, Thomas etc are all inconsistant, too young for consistancy or have no desire (Bell and Clinghan in the latter).

Sorry for the gloom but one or two on her are going to be heart broken come the end of the season as there seeing the picture through sky blue specs. I simply dont see us staying up at all but I bloody well hope we do. My personal opinion is that going down may be a great opportunity for one or two of the kids to develop more without a week in week out scrap and we may even have a good season!

The bottom 4 are as bad as each other and I can't see any of them going on a 'run', so if we don't lose at Bristol and beat Donny that will be our best shot. Winning only 9 matches all season and suddenly able to win 7 or 8 isn't going to happen (much as I'd love it to). Fortunately Bristol and Donny have similar stats.

Hull will probably win and if Burnley are still on a bad run sods law says they'll beat us (see Forest).

Looking at Aprils fixtures Donny are probably licking their lips more than us:
Leics (A)
Burnley (H) - little to play for
Pompey (H) - Relegation dog fight
Middlesborough (A)
Coventry (A)
Ipswich (H) - little to play for

2 relegation battles and a couple of teams who'll be 'on holiday'.

We have
Peterborough (H)
Bristol (A)
Burnley (A)
Millwall (H)
Donny (H)
Southampton (A)

Millwall, Bristol and Peterborough will be fighting to get away from the relegation zone and Donny obviously is the '6 pointer'.

I think Doncaster have a better chance of getting 9 from 9 at home than we do of 6 anywhere.

My caveat for this prediction is that I am terrible at predictions... so here's hoping that record continues :)

IF we maintain a resemblance of our recent better form then we will surely do enough to stay up and that may well be including that oh so lacking away win.

Lose that form in any way at all and we are down.

Over to AT and the boys who know what's required and on paper does not look at all too difficult does it?

So if we fail then yes we will deserve it.

And how many of the last 5 games did you expect us to lose in this damned right average run?

Donny licking their lips? You sure? Leshtur who are pushing for the play-offs? Pompey who are starting to pick up points? Boro in the play off positions? Us with our very good home record? Brum in the play off positions?

Would say they have a very tough run in!

The certainty which people state their predictions is amazing. Let's face it, nobody knows what's going to happen. And 7 games is a long time for teams at the bottom.

What we do know is that it is currently in our own hands. If we win all our matches, we stay up. If anyone can be bothered to work out the maximum number of points we can get relegated on then one more than that is what we should be looking at. Assuming Bristol and the others are going to lose games does nothing for my state of mind when they actually do pick up points.

Surely it's not in our hands? Bristol win all their games and we go down, don't we?
So it's well and truly out of our hands?!

All the best

Well, no. If we win all our games we stay up. Considering Bristol is one of our games then it is in our hands.

Trying to put a relisitc look at our chances, this is way I see it. I beleive we can win our home games against , Posh, Donny and Lions. Hull will hard on Saturday, anything from that will be a bonus, so I predict a defeat, based on our awful away record. Bristol game is massive for both team, could go either way, so I'll say a draw. Burnley, well we could win easy or get a right thumping, they are that sort of side, so I would say no points there.... Saints away end of season battering, no points. So that would give us 10 points. 45 points. It could be just enough

"On paper" all our remaining games are winable. There is nothing too scary. The important issue is that our fate is now in our own hands. Thanks to a few reasonable results, we are no longer at the mercy of other teams and their results. We need at least 14 points from the next 7 games (that's play-off form). I see no reason why that cannot be achieved!

I am still in shock that I just went through everyones results and have us to go down by a point.
Really pissed me off as I was very confident till I did that.
I have portsmouth to pip us by a point due to their home form.

They really annoy me. With all their prem players and still signing new ones and yet the administrator Mr Birch is turning up on radio, tv and papers saying what a shocking state they are in. They should be forced to play some of these players on 30000 a week even if they are only 90% fit. We have had to do that all season and when we could not we played kids. Youth players do exist in Portsmouth dont they?

I have to say I already disliked them due to them climbing over disabled supporters to attack us, but if my predictions come true my dislike level for them will be up there with Simon Cowell, SISU, David Cameron and Sprouts

people put my mind at ease this is what I think Swompey will do

Pompey 47

Burnley H W 3
Southampton A D 1
Millwall H W 3
Doncaster A D 1
Palace H W 3
Derby H W 3
Forest A L 0

Am I giving them far too much credit. Dont think Palace and Derby will care. Think the atmosphere at Doncaster will lead to nervey draw.
We have seen that they can lift their game and they are bound to do that away at Southampton and get a draw.

Think they are capable of beating Burnley and Millwall at home in the atmosphere that place generates.
